Job description

Job Title:ย SAS Viya 4 Platform Administrator

Location: Northern Virginia (100% Onsite)

Job Description

We are seeking a consultant to support a variety of insider threat tasks for a SAS customer in the Intelligence Community. This consultant will work with a team of SAS consultants on an ongoing project that has been active for more than 10 years and has had a significant impact on national security.

The current solution integrates more than 100 different data sources into an advanced SAS Visual Investigator environment with nearly 30 entities and dozens of VA reports.Applicants must be proficient in SAS Viya 4 administration and upgrades, have a solid understanding of Kubernetes, be willing to obtain a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance, and be located in or willing to relocate to the Washington DC area.

Responsibilities

  • Use data in a fast-paced operational environment to address urgent insider threats to national security
  • Administer, operate, and maintain SAS Viya 4 environments deployed on Kubernetes
  • Support containerized deployments of SAS Viya 4
  • Manage SAS Environment Manager including users, groups, roles, permissions, and access controls
  • Perform platform lifecycle activities such as upgrades, patching, configuration changes, and certificate management
  • Monitor platform health, logs, and performance across Viya services and infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain entities, pages, alerts, and workflows in SAS Visual Investigator
  • Assist in operating and maintaining SAS Viya 4 instance including SAS Studio, Visual Analytics, and Visual Investigator
  • Collaborate with insider threat subject matter experts
  • Configure and support authentication and authorization integrations
  • Troubleshoot role and permission propagation issues across Viya services
  • Ensure compliance with security and government standards (RBAC, least privilege, auditability)
  • Work 100% onsite at a Northern Virginia location

Other Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with the customer and provide guidance on solutions
  • Understand client business needs and translate them into solutions
  • Deliver project results using SAS methodologies, projects, and technologies
  • Provide data and analytical expertise
  • Participate in training to maintain knowledge of SAS products
  • Support sales teams with solution guidance and customer meetings

Required Qualifications

  • SAS Viya 4 administrative knowledge and experience
  • Working expertise with Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, OpenShift, or equivalent)
  • Experience troubleshooting containerized applications at scale
  • Must be located in or willing to relocate to the Washington DC area
  • Must be willing to work onsite up to 5 days per week
  • Must be a US Citizen willing to obtain TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Top Secret clearance with CI or full-scope polygraph
  • Masterโ€™s degree in a related field
  • Experience with Agile development
  • Analytics, business intelligence, or data management experience
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Knowledge of SAS products and implementation best practices
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Previous Federal government experience
  • Understanding of open-source programming languagesย
