Job description

Sapphire Gas Solutions LLC (Sapphire) is a national leader in the virtual pipeline delivery of Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) to pipeline operators, commercial and industrial customers, and others throughout the United States. The Energy Management Field Technician will be responsible for providing knowledge and experience for the safe implementation of natural gas projects. The role will be responsible for operating and maintaining equipment and supporting LNG, CNG, Field Gas, Process, and Rotating Equipment, while providing top-level customer service. This position will report to the Energy Management Operations Manager.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical & Electrical Expectations:
    • Operate, install, maintain, troubleshoot & repair equipment associated with natural gas storage and delivery.
    • Maintain & troubleshoot process instrumentation, flow, pressure, temperature, level transmitters, and analyzers.
    • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, motor controls, and PLC wiring.ย 
    • Perform low-voltage electrical testing, wiring, and diagnostics.
    • Program, configure, and maintain PLCs, SCADA & HMI Systems.
    • Calibrate sensors, transmitters, and control loops for accuracy.
    • Control Systems: PID loops, interlocks & automation sequences.
    • Read & interpret P&IDs, PFDs, schematics, electrical diagrams, and equipment specifications
  • Develop control systems solutions, install equipment & establish new customer locations.
  • Operate equipment associated with storing and delivering natural gas to the end user. ย 
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot & calibrate electrical & instrumentation systems for LNG/CNG process & rotating equipment. Various control systems installations.
  • Read & interpret PID, PFD, schematics, electrical diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Maintain documentation & records of any equipment maintenance, parts, repairs & modification.
  • Train staff, contractors, and customers on using & maintaining electrical & instrumentation systems.ย 
  • Conduct low-voltage electrical testing, wiring, and troubleshooting.
  • Safely perform assigned tasks & responsible for safety policies and procedures.
  • Set up and move equipment on, and around project locations.
  • Perform preventative and corrective mechanical service on company equipment.
  • Operate light-duty vehicles with or without trailers.
  • Correctly document daily activities (JSAs & Job Tickets), time and fuel tracking.
  • Develop knowledge of internal policies, government safety, and regulatory standards.ย 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
