GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The SAP Project Manager will be responsible for establishing and leading the SAP Project Management Office, ensuring robust project standards, governance, and methodologies are defined and consistently applied.

Setting up and leading the PMO office will be the main responsibility collaborating with Project Managers from System Integrators. Focus for this position will be on overseeing the SAP project portfolio, tracking performance, managing resource allocation, and ensuring successful delivery.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Establish and maintain project management standards and best practices (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Lead project governance, reporting, deliverables tracking, and compliance
  • Optimize resource usage by reviewing resource usage and reconciling with tasks and deliverables completion
  • Create project progress reports adaptable to different stakeholders
  • Optimize the use of Project Management tools - Project and Task Management, Document Repository, RAID tracking, Testing tools (as applicable)
  • Monitor project performance, anticipate issues to implement preventive actions, and timely escalate issues
  • Lead Project Management discussions during Planning and Preparation phases
  • Coach project team members as needed to ensure timeline and scope compliance
  • Participate in peer-review sessions to ensure cost-effective resource estimation
  • The ability to handle stress and work well with others is an essential function of this position.
  • Due to our obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to our customers, the ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance and the ability to work outside your regularly scheduled office hours when necessary are essential functions of the job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Project Management, or related field.

7+ years of experience in project management, including at least 2 SAP full-cycle SAP implementations in a PMO leadership role.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent certification required

  • Proficient in SAP Activate Methodology over a wide variety of variants per the respective SAP System in scope
  • Strong facilitation skills to effectively manage group discussions
  • Solid problem resolution skills with the ability to write problem statements as well as to create a framework for decision making
  • Ability to effectively work and communicate within a matrix environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills to challenge assumptions and the ability to ask probing questions
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Previous experience in a managed service environment is a plus.
