Accountant-Fixed Assets
Norcross, GA
Position Summary: The Fixed Asset Accountant oversees the financial reporting, tracking, and compliance of the company's fixed assets. This position is responsible for recording asset acquisitions, tracking Construction-in-Progress (CIP) accounts, executing depreciation schedules, and managing asset disposals. The role closely collaborates with project managers, procurement teams, and external auditors to ensure strict adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
This position is a hybrid position requiring on-site attendance a minimum of two days/week and is in Norcross, GA.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years experience in accounting, financial reporting, or management
  • Manufacturing background is preferred

Additional Qualifications, Certifications and/or Licenses:
  • CPA or CMA preferred

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Asset Lifecycle Management: Process and record all fixed asset transactions, including acquisitions, transfers, impairments, and disposals (Corporate)
  • Capital Expense Oversight: Review operational purchase orders and invoices to determine whether expenditure should be expensed or capitalized.
  • Physical Inventories: Plan, execute, and reconcile periodic physical audits of plant equipment, vehicles, and facilities
  • General Ledger Reconciliation: Reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger and prepare monthly roll-forward schedules (Global Lightera LLC)
  • Annual Audit & Risk Management: Prepare detailed fixed asset and depreciation schedules for internal, and external auditors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Accounting systems knowledge (SAP and JDE preferred)
General Expectations:
  • Demonstrate effective communications (verbal, written) skills
  • Advanced with MS Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Maintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information
  • Strict adherence to Company safety policies and procedures
  • Exhibit all aspects of Lightera "Standards of Conduct"
