Job description


  • Supervise and develop the Fixed Asset Liaison team

  • Oversee intake, review, prioritization, and coordination of capital requests

  • Ensure capital projects comply with WM capitalization policies and governance requirements

  • Oversee project setup, maintenance, closure, asset shell creation, and fixed asset transfers

  • Manage workload distribution, service-level performance, and customer support activities

  • Build relationships with Area leadership, Controllers, Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders

  • Monitor and resolve aged CIP balances, project exceptions, open requests, and reconciliation items

  • Lead year-end capital governance activities, including project closeout, capitalization review, purchase order management, and readiness reporting

  • Review service metrics, dashboard reporting, case quality, and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement

  • Serve as escalation point for field questions, capital governance issues, funding concerns, and cross-functional coordination

  • Train, coach, develop, and evaluate employees while promoting customer service, operational excellence, and policy compliance


Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Business Administration, or a similar area of study, or a high school diploma/GED and four years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree

  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience

  • 5 years of previous experience in addition to the education requirement

  • Experience supervising and developing teams

  • Knowledge of fixed asset accounting, capital governance, project accounting, and capitalization requirements

  • Experience with Fixed Assets, PPM, Coupa, ServiceNow, and related systems

  • Ability to manage capital requests, projects, purchase orders, asset shells, fixed asset transfers, and reconciliation items

  • Ability to work in a professional office environment using standard office equipment

  • Must have or be willing to obtain a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for air travel or access to federal property
