JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Plant Controller, this role is responsible for supporting fixed assets accounting function. Responsibilities include review/process capex purchase requests, capital asset disposal/transfer, monthly reconciliation of fixed asset subledger, monthly/quarterly/annual accounting close activities, supporting quarterly reviews and annual audit, monitoring internal controls. The candidate must have advanced skills in Excel, strong knowledge of GAAP, ability to reconcile and present complex data, and collaborate cross-functionally

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, analyze and process all capital asset purchase requests
  • Review, analyze and process all capital asset disposal and capital asset transfer requests
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of fixed asset subledger to General Ledger balances
  • Assist in preparation of documentation for internal/external audit requests and SOX compliance data

  • Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of fixed asset subledger
  • Aid cross functional teams on questions regarding corporate fixed asset policies &

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES FOR SUCCESS

  • Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing setting with knowledge of fixed assets; inventory; CAPEX/OPEX
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and Accounting Systems
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex data to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to reconcile large data sets with advanced level skills in MS Excel and Business Intelligence reporting tools
  • Ability to prioritize and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to thrive in a team-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers
  • Continuously perform to high ethical standards and those established from an Internal Controls/Legal perspective.

  

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • All candidates must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Accounting experience in a publicly traded manufacturing company with experience in fixed assets, inventory, month/quarter/year end close activities, and audit preparation
