Job description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging – but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

What You’ll Do

We are seeking a Senior SAP Solution Advisor focused on SAP Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) and Global Trade Services (GTS) to act as the technical and solution-focused leader for strategic accounts across the full customer value journey (CVJ). You will partner closely with Account Directors and Account Executives to drive new sales, accelerate adoption, and ensure customers realize measurable value from SAP GRC and GTS solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep domain knowledge of compliance, risk and global trade processes with proven SAP product expertise and the ability to translate regulatory and operational requirements into outcome-driven technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide deep, GRC- and GTS-specific solution expertise to support new sales, adoption, and renewal conversations with strategic customers.
  • Support Stage F/D activities for ADs/AEs through tailored solution presentations, executive briefings, and qualification workshops focused on compliance, risk, and trade transformation.
  • Evaluate accounts against GRC/GTS qualification criteria (regulatory exposure, audit complexity, trade volumes, customs risk) to prioritize Solution Advisor investment.
  • Establish thought leadership on account teams; shape account strategy around risk reduction, compliance maturity, duty optimization, and trade efficiency.
  • Create compelling value propositions and competitive differentiation (value wedges) tied to measurable outcomes (reduced compliance findings, lower duty spend, faster customs clearance, reduced manual controls).
  • Perform business process capability and control gap analyses across controls management, access governance, segregation of duties, trade compliance, customs declaration, classification, and trade preference management; advise on target-state processes and controls (SOX, GDPR, export controls).
  • Build rapid prototypes and demo scenarios (access change workflows, automated controls dashboards, trade classification wizards, customs reporting, denied‑party screening, tax/duty optimization scenarios) to prove value.
  • Define outcomes and value levers (e.g., reduction in audit hours, fines avoided, duty savings, time‑to‑release improvements) and align technical solutions to business KPIs.
  • Execute rigorous dry runs for strategic deals and executive-level engagements; tailor messaging for CFOs, Chief Compliance Officers, Heads of Trade & Logistics.
  • Effectively transition engagements to implementation partners / Field Services preserving controls, requirements, and compliance evidence.
  • Continue to evangelize SAP GRC & GTS capabilities post-sale to drive adoption, expansion (e.g., compliance → enterprise risk, trade → global trade automation), and renewals.
  • Leverage digital assets (recorded demos, compliance microsites, ROI calculators, content from the Global Digital Content Factory) and maintain accurate SAP system records for customer activities.
  • Contribute GRC/GTS best practices and reusable assets to a centralized content hub and collaborate with Customer Advocates to align adoption feedback with solution expertise.

What You’ll Bring

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in GRC, trade compliance, or SAP solution advisory within large multinational organizations or professional services.
  • Strong SAP product experience: SAP GRC (Access Control, Process Control, Risk Management), SAP Global Trade Services (GTS), and related S/4HANA integrations.
  • Deep working knowledge of regulatory frameworks, SOX/controls, export/import compliance, HTS/HS classification, Incoterms, denied‑party screening, customs processes, and trade documentation.
  • Experience with cloud/SaaS/PaaS delivery models and integration patterns (APIs, EDI, customs and bank gateways).
  • Proven track record of creating pipeline and revenue growth through domain-led solution leadership and executive-level engagement.
  • Certifications such as SAP GRC/GTS certifications, CIPP, CTP, or relevant compliance/trade credentials.
  • Experience with duty optimization, trade preference management (rules of origin), and customs modernization projects.
  • Familiarity with audit evidence management, continuous controls monitoring, and governance frameworks (COSO, ISO).
  • Experience producing ROI/value analyses and CFO- or compliance‑level business cases.
  • Exceptional storytelling and executive presentation skills tailored to compliance, finance and trade stakeholders.
  • Strong discovery and stakeholder management to elicit regulatory pain points and KPIs.
  • Energetic, persuasive communicator in live and virtual settings; collaborative and able to influence cross-functional teams and partners.
