Job description

🎀Welcome to Sanrio!

Sanrio is the global lifestyle brand best known for pop icon Hello Kitty. We’re also home to an endearing cast of characters, including the #1 fan favorite (2 years running!) Pompompurin, alongside Cinnamoroll, Pochacco, Kuromi, and many more. Since 1960, our “small gift, big smile” philosophy has inspired a World of delight, where even the tiniest token can spark happiness and an enduring connection.

Are you organized, creative, and ready to help sprinkle a little extra kawaii into unforgettable fan experiences? Sanrio is growing, and we’re looking to add a thoughtful, detail-loving Brand Marketing Events Coordinator to our team. In this role, you’ll support our Brand Marketing Events team with character appearances, costume logistics, event planning, vendor coordination, and all the thoughtful details that make each moment feel special. If you love bringing people together, keeping tiny details on track, and helping beloved characters shine at events, this role may be your perfect fit.

✨What you'll do:

  • Support multiple Brand Marketing projects, events, and initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Help ensure the Sanrio brand is represented with care, consistency, and charm for fans, partners, and consumers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external partners, vendors, talent, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Research trends, best practices, vendors, pricing, and ideas that help create memorable experiences.

🧸Events & Character Costume Coordination

  • Help keep our character appearances running smoothly, safely, and adorably, from schedules and call sheets to costume care and partner communication.
  • Co-Own day-to-day coordination for the Character Costume Division, including operations, logistics, scheduling, talent coordination, housekeeping, and related support.
  • Assist with planning and logistics for Sanrio events and initiatives involving character costume appearances.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with costume character talent, external partners, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Coordinate outreach, scheduling, and booking for character appearances across internal and external marketing needs.
  • Create and share call sheets, run of show documents, appearance details, and guidelines with staff, partners, and talent.
  • Update and maintain character appearance requests and calendars in Airtable.
  • Support character training standards and help uphold appearance guidelines for staff, talent, and external partners.
  • Care for, clean, transport, and ship costumes in a timely and thoughtful way.
  • Research vendors, gather pricing and quotes, and coordinate costume-related needs.
  • Partner with vendors to design, source, and coordinate costumes while supporting quality standards and timely delivery.
  • Process invoices accurately and on time.
  • Work with the legal team on agreements, NDAs, and documentation for talent and vendors.

💫What YOU bring to the table:

  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, events, costumes, or a related area preferred.
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms, including Instagram and TikTok.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; experience with Basecamp and Airtable is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence sharing ideas in meetings and with team members.
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset and professionalism when working with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization, problem-solving, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and stay nimble when plans change.
  • Strong attention to detail; understanding that the little things matter.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% annually, including frequent travel and weekends as event needs require.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Enthusiasm for the Sanrio brand, Sanrio characters, fan culture, and pop culture is a big plus.
  • English/Japanese bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Ability to comply with company policies and complete other projects and duties as assigned.

💖Why You'll Love it here:

You’ll help create joyful, character-filled experiences that delight Sanrio fans and bring our world of friendship, kindness, and cuteness to life. From behind-the-scenes logistics to magical event-day moments, your work will help make every appearance feel thoughtful, polished, and memorable.

Ready to Join Our Kawaii Crew? 🌸

If you’re ready to coordinate meaningful fan moments, support beloved character appearances, and add your own sparkle to the Sanrio experience, we’d love to meet you. 💕 Apply today and help us bring more smiles to the world. 🌈
