Job description

Pine Bluff Materials in Sivells Bend, Texas is currently recruiting a Plant Operator to join our operations team. The candidate selected for this role will report to the Sivells Bend location on a daily basis.
Position Overview
The Plant Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in the processing of sand and aggregate materials. This role includes monitoring production flow, ensuring product quality, performing routine maintenance, and upholding safety standards in a mining or industrial plant setting.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operations
  • Operate and monitor sand plant equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, washers, and dryers.
  • Adjust controls to regulate material flow and ensure consistent production output.
  • Conduct routine inspections of sand products to ensure they meet required specifications.
  • Collect samples and record moisture levels, gradation, and other quality indicators.
  • Communicate deviations in product quality to supervisors and assist in corrective action.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Identify mechanical issues and report or assist with repairs.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training.
  • Complete required logs, checklists, and documentation accurately.
  • Assist with plant startups and shutdowns.
  • Collaborate with team members to maintain efficient plant performance.

Qualifications
Required:
  • Previous experience in mining, aggregates, or industrial plant operations is an asset.
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery safely.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor.
  • Willingness to learn equipment operation and plant processes
  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and following safety protocols.

Preferred
  • Prior experience in industrial sand, aggregates, mining, or dredge-based extraction systems.
