3rd Shift Position Available - $1.50/hr shift differential
JOB SUMMARY
To operate shot blast equipment, automatic degreaser, to clean all types of pumps and fabricated components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Receives verbal or written instructions and work assignments from Foreman, or Fitter-Group Leader.
• Uses floor controlled electric crane, electric jib hoist, or walking electric lift truck to move and position material in blast house, Roto-blast, or automatic degreaser.
• Checks and adds grit or sand to maintain a sufficient amount of grit and sand in hoppers.
• Puts protective equipment on before starting cleaning operation and manually operates high pressure nozzle in cleaning specified areas. Checks cleaned surfaces, reblast for specified finish. Uses portable grinder to remove surface defects, also chips, grinds and deburrs on rough and finished material. Makes gaskets. Calls Foreman's attention to obvious imperfections.
• Operates blast house in prescribed manner, disconnects pipes, cleans out clogged lines, sweeps and cleans sand and grit from floor and adds to hopper.
• Uses floor controlled electric crane or electric jib hoist to position assembled lube-oil pump over oil tank, proceeds to dip and coat unit with oil.
• Operates controls to start degreaser for automatic cleaning cycle, stops and transfers parts to rinse tank, unloads cleaned parts, using air to blow off to dry.
• Drains and refills tanks with cleaning and rinsing solution.
• Keeps immediate work area clean and orderly.
Requirements
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Performs repetitive job, involving use of shot blast and degreasing equipment, checks cleaned surfaces for defects.
• Operate controls to operate cleaning equipment, manually operates high pressure nozzle to clean components. Makes simple adjustments to obtain required results.
• Moderate attention and care required to prevent damage to material handling equipment and to individual processing units. Use crane.
• Light mental or visual application required when sand blasting, degreasing where there is a variety but actions taken and decisions made are limited to few possibilities.
• Moderate physical exertion, when operating sand blasting nozzle or moving material with crane.
Working Hours:
3rd shift - 10:30pm to 7:00am
