Position Summary:
AAA United States, Inc. has partnered with a company in Jupiter, Florida that is a leading aftermarket service provider for multi-platform OEM gas turbine power plants worldwide.
A Grit Blasting Technician is responsible for preparing and cleaning surfaces by using abrasive materials, such as grit, sand, or other blasting media, to remove rust, paint, or other contaminants. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of safety protocols, and the ability to operate power tools and specialized blasting equipment effectively.
Essential Functions:
  • Surface Preparation: Use grit blasting equipment to prepare surfaces for coating, painting, or further processing. This may include cleaning, smoothing, or roughening surfaces on metals, plastics, or other materials.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain grit blasting machines, including adjusting pressure, media, and equipment settings to achieve the desired results.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety guidelines to prevent injury and ensure the safe operation of blasting equipment. This includes wearing protective gear (e.g., gloves, respirators, face shields) and adhering to environmental and workplace safety regulations.
  • Material Handling: Handle and store abrasive materials and ensure proper disposal of waste materials generated during the blasting process.
  • Quality Control: Inspect the surface quality to ensure it meets required specifications, making adjustments to the blasting process as needed.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of blasting equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.

Requirements
  • Previous experience with power tools or in industrial settings is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
