The group you'll be a part of
In the Global Products Group, we are dedicated to excellence in the design and engineering of Lam's etch and deposition products. We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry.
What you'll do
  • Take care of sample preparation tasks which are required before loading samples into our STEM tools. May include ALD coatings, application of other protective coatings, identifying and marking areas of interest based on a schematic, resizing samples, and similar tasks.
  • Follow fixed procedures and repeat with a wide variety of sample configurations.
  • Perform sample intake and outgoing procedures which includes screening for physical and digital quality and photographing contents. Identify and set aside samples which do not meet lab's submission expectations.
  • Customer service.
  • Assisting other lab assistants with shipping responsibilities
  • Especially successful, tenured techs in this role may pursue a career in electron microscopy within our group.

Preferred qualifications
  • Associate's degree, technical certificate, or higher in a discipline relevant to the semiconductor industry such as Microelectronics Technology, Physics/Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
  • 2-4 years of related work experience in the semiconductor industry, especially handling silicon wafers, processing wafers in fab tools, cleaving wafers into coupons, and identifying features of interest based on a wafer schematic.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal, in English.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work a compressed shift schedule.
