Job description

Tax Manager System One is partnering with a client seeking an experienced Tax Manager to oversee fuel and sales tax compliance, reporting, audits, and tax-related initiatives. This role will be responsible for managing tax filings, supporting business operations with tax guidance, and leading a team of tax professionals. Key Responsibilities
  • Motor fuel excise tax returns
  • Sales tax returns
  • Tax rate updates for billing
  • Responding timely to customer inquiries related to tax rates, exemptions, etc.
  • Leading fuel and sales tax audits with states and the IRS
  • Review of tax diligence reports for potential acquisitions
  • Manages 2-4 analysts
  • In office 5 days a week
Qualifications
  • Strong experience with sales tax and/or fuel tax compliance.
  • Experience managing tax audits
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Prior leadership or team management experience preferred.
  • Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday.
