Overview

First Citizens Bank has an incredible opportunity for a Sales Support Specialist (Commercial Lending Assistant). We are hiring banking professionals who have had proven success in their past careers, are self-motivated, and possess strong relationship building skills. This role is an integral part of our team, partnering with Commercial and/or Business Banking groups in the sales, servicing and management of clients and loan portfolios.


Responsibilities
  • Ongoing Sales Support: Provide ongoing sales support to Lenders, including identifying sales and cross sell opportunities, coordinating materials for presentations, setting up sales calls, maintaining prospect lists, and making joint calls as needed.
  • Documentation Support: Originates, processes, and ensures accuracy of loan documentation for closings. This includes entering financial information into the loan system and ensuring that all necessary documentation is included in the loan package prior to closing.
  • Ongoing Credit Servicing Support: Resolving documentation exception issues, maintaining service levels, updating financial statements, and preparing files for all portfolio reviews. Run reports to track maturing lines/loans and service levels.
  • Monitoring of Past Due Credits: Communicate, report, and follow up on portfolio past dues to ensure they remain current, while maintaining customer contact.
  • Ongoing Customer Service/Office Support: Coordinates opening of deposit and other banking services with branch partners. Handles customer requests for information and problem resolution.

Qualifications
  • Basic Requirements:
    • High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience in sales or lending support OR
    • Bachelor’s Degree with experience in sales or lending support
  • Additional Skills and Experiences: 
    • 4+ years of prior experience in banking, ideally in Commercial Lending Support
    • Strong working knowledge of the loan documentation and loan closing processes
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, strong computer skills, and an ability to learn banking systems
    • Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and an ability to multitask
    • Professional written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively with bankers and other internal partners
    • Ideal candidate will have experience with:
      • Title documentation
      • Life insurance
      • Deeds of trust
      • U.C.C. filings
      • Mortgages
      • Assignments of rents
      • Surveys
      • Ordering Appraisals
      • Environmental reports
      • Tax returns and supporting documents

The base pay for this position is generally between $27 and $36 per hour.
