We are looking for a versatile and customer-focused Inside Sales & Warehouse Associate to join our new branch. This is a hands-on, varied role combining inside sales, customer service, purchasing support, order processing, inventory, shipping and receiving, and warehouse activities.

As part of a small team, you’ll be involved in many aspects of the day-to-day business. One moment you may be assisting a customer at the counter or preparing a quote, and the next you may be following up with a supplier, receiving a shipment, or preparing an order for pickup.

Position Description

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Inside Sales & Warehouse Associate plays a key support role in the day-to-day activities of the Manchester branch.

The position combines customer service, inside sales, purchasing support, order processing, inventory management, shipping and receiving, and hands-on warehouse work.

Your Responsibilities

Customer Service

·        Serve customers by phone, email, and at the branch counter in a professional and responsive manner

  • Understand customer needs and help identify appropriate products and solutions
  • Prepare quotes, enter sales orders, and process customer requests accurately
  • Provide information regarding pricing, product availability, order status, and lead times
  • Follow up on quotes, open orders, backorders, and customer inquiries
  • Build strong relationships with customers and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Help resolve order discrepancies and respond quickly to customer needs

Purchasing

  • Assist with purchasing products and replenishing inventory based on branch and customer requirements
  • Place and follow up on purchase orders with suppliers
  • Help maintain appropriate inventory levels while supporting customer demand

Warehouse & Forklift Operations

  • Pick, verify, pack, and prepare customer orders accurately and efficiently
  • Safely operate stand-up and sit-down forklifts for receiving, storage, order preparation, and material movement
  • Move, organize, and store products safely and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory counts
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment
  • Assist with general warehouse activities as required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: 3+ years in inside sales, customer service, distribution, or warehouse operations. Experience with structural steel and fasteners a distinct advantage.
  • Customer Focus: Strong communication and service skills
  • Systems: Experience using ERP and order-entry systems; P21 experience is an asset
  • Versatility: Able to support sales, purchasing, customer service, and warehouse activities
  • Forklift: Forklift experience is an asset
  • Accuracy & Autonomy: Organized, detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform regular warehouse activities
