Job description

Operations Program Manager – (two roles)

Marathon is seeking (two) experienced Operations Program Manager(s) to lead operational execution, streamline processes, and align cross-functional teams in support of flagship production contracts. In this role, you will serve as the primary liaison between operations, engineering, supply chain and production. You will manage end-to-end schedules, track key performance indicators (KPIs), identify critical paths, and drive risk mitigation to ensure products and programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, track, and manage operational project schedules from NPI or development phases through mass production ramp or steady-state operations.

· Collaborate with engineering, quality, supply chain, and business leadership to define scopes, align resources, and achieve operational milestones against the IMS.

· Identify gaps or disconnects in execution, drive root-cause analysis, and implement continuous improvement processes.

· Monitor program budgets, review capital/operational expenditure requests, and oversee resource allocation.

· Analyze operational data and KPIs (such as SQDCP: Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) to present status updates to senior leadership and executives.

· Proactively assess program risks, identify critical paths, and execute actionable mitigation plans to completion.

Required Qualifications & Skills

· Education:

o Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related technical field.

o Currently possess a U.S. Secret security clearance.

· Experience:

o 5 to 10+ years of total experience in manufacturing, technical operations, or program management in a high-volume or complex matrix environment.

o Demonstrated experience taking products or solutions from early development/NPI through production release.

o Proven experience identifying and troubleshooting problems while developing and implementing process improvements that result in cohesion and streamlined coordination across disciplines.

· Technical Competencies:

o Proficiency with project scheduling and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Confluence, Gantt charts, Excel).

o Strong understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO).

o Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence.

o High-level analytical, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities within matrixed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

· Formal project/program management certification (e.g., PMP / PMI framework).

· Experience with specialized industry tools or domain-specific manufacturing processes (e.g., Earned Value Management, automotive/defense supply chains, or hardware systems).

· Demonstrated experience leading the transition to production readiness, focusing on process optimization, operational excellence, continuous improvement, design for manufacturability (DFM) and supply chain stability.

· Strong quality management acumen, capable of breaking down complex problems to drive schedule attainment and mitigation to ensure programs are delivered on time and budget.

· Strong ability to lead data-driven results while fostering teamwork amongst cross-functional teams and prioritize strategic problem sets with condensed timelines.
