What you'll do:
The Brass Tacks
  • Manages all aspects of the reservations, housekeeping, outsides services, and recreation department.
  • Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, training and scheduling applicable departments.
  • Ensures adequate coverage during all operational hours.
  • Operates the PBX equipment by answering incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling and setting wake-up calls and paging guests in accordance with established standards.
  • Responds to inquiries and assists guests in making reservations for all facets of the operation, including, but not limited to lodging, dining, recreation, etc.
  • Assists the Sales and Marketing Team by entering group bookings and VIP reservations.
  • Receives sorts and distributes guest mail, messages and faxes.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all guest information and pertinent hotel data.
  • Keeps accurate and complete records of reservations, messages and other required information.
  • Assists fellow team members when possible and appropriate.
  • Brings the departments shift to a sense of finality
  • Adjusts rate specials and discrepancies

The Nitty Gritty
  • 2+ years previous experience managing operations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Strong working knowledge of hotel front office, housekeeping operations and accounting procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of the hotel's property management and point of sale systems.
  • Strong computer literacy in Microsoft Office, especially Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Financial management skills, including budget management, expense control and analysis of Profit and Loss statements.
  • Strong people management skills, including coaching, motivating, delegating, scheduling and relationship-building.
