The Manager, Sales Operations is responsible for leading the operational functions of the Inside Sales and Customer Service teams to drive efficiency, consistency, and profitability across the business. This role serves as a critical liaison between Inside Sales, Field Sales, Finance, and Operations, ensuring seamless execution of sales processes, pricing strategies, quote management, and order fulfillment activities. The Manager, Sales Operations is responsible for developing best practices, supporting business strategy execution, driving commercial performance, and coaching team members to achieve organizational goals.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a key member of the commercial leadership team, contributing to the development and execution of strategies that support long-term business growth and profitability.
  • Ensure pricing discipline across the organization by partnering with Inside Sales Supervisors and Key Account Managers and enforcing adherence to established company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor margin performance and pricing compliance through Power BI, ensuring quotes and orders meet established profitability targets.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve best-practice processes for quotations, order management, customer service, and overall sales operations.
  • Lead operational initiatives that support annual sales, bookings, and revenue objectives.
  • Act as the primary liaison between Sales, Finance, and Operations to ensure effective communication and alignment across functions.
  • Monitor manufacturing disruptions, capacity constraints, and operational issues, communicating impacts and updates to the commercial team as needed.
  • Identify operational challenges, customer concerns, and process inefficiencies while recommending solutions to improve commercial performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare and provide regular reporting and analysis on Inside Sales activities, performance metrics, and key operational trends.
  • Lead, mentor, develop, and coach Inside Sales Representatives and Supervisors to maximize individual and team performance.
  • Identify training and professional development opportunities to support employee growth and succession planning.
  • Establish performance expectations, monitor results, and implement corrective actions or improvement plans when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring a high level of service and satisfaction.
  • Travel as needed to support customer relationships, business objectives, and team development initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Operations, or a related field preferred. Equivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales, customer service, commercial operations, or sales leadership roles.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing sales operations, inside sales, or customer service teams.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Wire and cable industry experience is highly desirable.

Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to support customers, business objectives, and team development activities.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work extended periods in a sedentary position while operating a computer and performing repetitive motions.
  • Ability to lift and move objects and materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with operations personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow all safety guidelines and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when onsite.
  • Frequent domestic and international travel may be required.
