JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for management of the facility's by enforcing the policies and procedures, safe operation of concrete batch plant, and batch materials used in construction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location
  • Manages and oversees the operations of multiple plants, mixer drivers, and sales operations.
  • Perform daily equipment and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure that equipment is properly maintained
  • Conduct required catwalk conversation meetings daily/weekly.
  • Safely and properly operate ready mix plant.
  • Ensure appropriate material to produce quality concrete per job specifications.
  • Communicate with quality control personnel and make required adjustments to material blends.
  • Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others at all times.
  • Lead personnel at plant and work with dispatch to schedule drivers. Monitor plant site to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
  • Troubleshoot and create solutions for material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc...
  • Monitor and discuss production problems with Operations Manager and Maintenance Manager.
  • Accurately complete company reports and other documentation as needed.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience/education/Skill

  • Must maintain a minimum Class B CDL with air brakes.
  • Ability to read, write and figure mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work without direct supervision.
  • Must work well with others in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.
  • Must be able to understand and adhere to the safety requirements of this position.
  • Willingness to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Ability to work near, around or on light or heavy equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift objects of various dimensions and up to 100lbs of weight.
  • Ability to repeatedly climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects
  • Ability to tolerate working outdoors in all environmental temperatures and weather
  • Ability to repeatedly reach, squat and tolerate prolonged standing / walking / sitting
  • Ability to repeatedly walk on uneven surfaces
