Position Summary
The Senior Director, Sales & Marketing Operations will lead Cosette Pharmaceuticals' commercial operations function, serving as a strategic partner to drive business performance, field effectiveness, and brand growth. This individual will be responsible for transforming data into actionable business insights that improve decision-making, identify growth opportunities, and maximize the effectiveness of commercial investments.
The role will oversee sales operations, business analytics, field force support, forecasting, incentive compensation, reporting, territory alignment, and commercial planning processes. The ideal candidate combines strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and operational excellence with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive execution.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Insights & Business Analytics
• Lead the generation of actionable business insights to identify opportunities for revenue growth, market expansion, customer engagement, and portfolio optimization.
• Partner with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, and Finance leaders to evaluate business performance and recommend strategies to accelerate growth.
• Develop and maintain executive dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting that enable timely and informed decision-making.
• Analyze prescribing trends, payer dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive activity to uncover commercial opportunities and risks.
• Drive business reviews and performance assessments across the entire commercial organization, including vendor harmonization and consolidation.
• Management of MLR process and documentation
Sales Operations & Field Effectiveness
• Lead sales force operations, ensuring the field organization has the tools, information, and support required to maximize performance.
• Oversee territory alignment, targeting, customer segmentation, call planning, and sales force deployment strategies.
• Manage incentive compensation design, administration, and effectiveness assessments.
• Partner with sales leadership to identify performance drivers and develop action plans to improve execution.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of field performance metrics.
• Plan and execute sales awards activities, POAs and national meetings
Commercial Planning & Execution
• Support annual operating plans, forecasting processes, launch readiness activities, and long-range strategic planning.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Finance to evaluate promotional effectiveness and return on commercial investments.
• Identify processes to increase corporate efficiencies and create improvements that enhance organizational scale and execution.
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Serve as a key liaison between Commercial, Finance, Market Access, IT, and external data vendors.
• Lead and develop a high-performing Sales & Marketing Operations team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.
• Present recommendations and business insights to senior leadership and executive management.
• Create and continuously improve processes and procedures and cascade these for approval and education.
Qualifications
Required Experience
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or specialty healthcare commercial experience.
• Sales or marketing experience preferred.
• Significant experience in sales operations, marketing operations, commercial analytics, business planning, or related commercial functions.
• Demonstrated success supporting commercial organizations and driving business performance improvements.
• Experience leading teams and managing cross-functional initiatives.
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong commercial and communications acumen with the ability to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Deep understanding of pharmaceutical sales, marketing, market access, and customer engagement models.
• Expertise in sales force effectiveness, incentive compensation, forecasting, territory management, and performance reporting.

Salary Range
The expected annual base salary for this NJ based position is $230,000 - $290,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee on the payment date.
