Job description

Overview
Kadant Johnson is seeking to fill a Sales Development Representative role. As a core member of the inside sales team, the Sales Development Representative acts as a project manager for all assigned accounts fulfilling all quote requests, follow-ups, and closing revenue opportunities through direct communication.
This role is fast paced and rewarding, and the ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple requests coming in and pull in the right teams to help support converting opportunities to revenue. This position will work closely with the product marketing team as well as the outside selling organization.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include generating, qualifying, and closing inquiries for business opportunities to support Company revenue targets. The role is also responsible for technical consulting and developing ongoing relationships with contacts by providing value to the contact in every interaction. Customer interaction will comprise most of the workday in the form of telephone, video, email, and other digital communications to sell Kadant Johnson products and services and fulfill requests. Occasionally, travel may be required.
This position reports through the Sales Development and Project Operations Manager.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in marketing, sales, or engineering.
• Professional experience, preferably in an industrial setting in sales, customer service, applications, or technical selling role.
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with people is a necessity. Should be articulate and have a pleasing personality.
• Highly organized with exceptional project management skills and attentional to detail.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate will also be self-motivated, possess a "can-do" attitude, and be able to think on his/her feet in a conversation to ask and answer engaging questions with ease.
