This is a builder and coaching role with meaningful influence across our go-to-market organization. You'll develop early-career talent, strengthen our sales development motion, and create the team practices that drive predictable growth.

What is cool about this job

  • Build the next generation of sales development at WP Engine by expanding our inbound strength into a balanced inbound and outbound motion.

  • Lead and coach a team that plays a critical role in creating pipeline and revenue for the business.

  • Partner across Sales, Marketing, Revenue Operations, and Enablement to shape how we generate and convert demand.

  • Use data, technology, automation, and AI to make prospecting, research, personalization, and coaching more effective.

  • Develop early-career talent and help SDRs build the skills needed for their next sales opportunity.

This is a hybrid role. Our sales organization works from our Austin, TX office each Tuesday and Thursday.

The Day to Day

  • Lead team performance and development, translating revenue goals into clear priorities and expectations.

  • Coach SDRs through 1:1s, call reviews, role plays, and real-time feedback to improve performance.

  • Build outbound capability through account prioritization, research, personalized messaging, and multi-channel prospecting.

  • Maintain well-developed inbound execution across lead response, qualification, follow-up, and seller handoff.

  • Monitor funnel performance from lead response through meetings, qualified opportunities, pipeline, and bookings.

  • Use performance data to identify opportunities, address gaps, and improve team results.

  • Partner with Account Executives and sales leaders on account strategy, meeting quality, and pipeline creation.

  • Work with Marketing, Revenue Operations, Enablement, and other GTM teams to improve lead quality, messaging, systems, and rep readiness.

  • Leverage Salesforce, Qualified, Gong Engage, Clay, LinkedIn, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve productivity and execution.

  • Test and refine prospecting strategies, messaging, channels, and coaching approaches based on results.

  • Hire, onboard, and develop SDR talent while addressing performance gaps and supporting career growth.

What Success Looks Like

Rep performance. SDRs improve their ability to prospect, qualify, discover, handle objections, and create quality opportunities.

Outbound growth. Outbound becomes a reliable source of qualified pipeline while inbound performance remains healthy.

Team development. New hires ramp successfully, team members continue to grow, and SDRs have clear paths for continued career development.

Continuous improvement. The team uses data, technology, AI, and experimentation to improve how it generates pipeline.

Your Expertise and Passion

  • 3+ years of quota-carrying B2B sales or sales development experience, including 2+ years leading SDRs in a SaaS or technology environment.

  • Experience leading or building an outbound motion while maintaining well-developed inbound performance.
