The Opportunity:

LG Electronics is seeking a visionary and strategic Director of Business Development & Sales to lead and scale our Smart Factory Solutions business. This executive role is responsible for defining the long-term commercial strategy, building a high-performing sales organization, and driving multi-year revenue growth across global manufacturing sectors such as Heavy Industry, Automotive, Battery, Pharmaceutical, F&B, and others. The Director will serve as a key leader in positioning LG as a dominant player in the Industrial 4.0 landscape, overseeing complex ecosystem partnerships and high-value strategic accounts.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Business Planning

  • Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the overarching GTM (Go-To-Market) strategy for Smart Factory solutions, aligning with LG's global business objectives
  • P&L Management: Managing the revenue targets and profitability (margin)
  • Market Leadership: Anticipate industry shifts in AI, Robotics, and Digital Twin technologies to pivot business strategies and maintain a competitive edge
  • Inorganic Growth: Identify and evaluate potential M&A opportunities, strategic alliances, and joint ventures to expand the solution portfolio

Sales Organization & Execution Management

  • Sales Governance: Build and optimize a scalable sales process, from lead generation frameworks to advanced CRM analytics and forecasting
  • High-Value Deal Oversight: Lead the business development and closure of multi-million/billion dollar contracts, providing negotiations and deal structuring
  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate closely with Business Management, R&D to ensure the delivery of customer centric solutions

Executive Client & Ecosystem Engagement

  • C-suite Networking: Develop and maintain deep rooted relationships with C-level executives (CTO, COO, CIO) of Fortune 500 manufacturing and deliver tailored solution presentations, demos, and ROI-based proposals

People & Organizational Excellence Leadership & Representation

  • Talent Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain a world class team of BD managers and solution architects, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability
  • Operational Excellence: Implement best in class sales enablement tools and methodologies to improve team productivity and win rates. Represent LG at trade shows, conferences, and industry consortiums to enhance visibility and lead generation.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Master's preferred)

Experience

  • 15+ years in business development and solution sales related with Smart Factory, Industrial Automation, or advanced manufacturing solutions
  • 5+ years in a leadership/management role, with a proven track record of managing high-performing sales teams and achieving $100M+ annual targets
  • Extensive experience in managing long-cycle, complex consultative sales within the Heavy Industry, Automotive, Battery, Pharmaceutical, F&B and other industries
