DESCRIPTION:

Greenway Automotive is looking for Apprentice Technician in the state of Florida.ย ย The ideal candidate has some experience in the processes involved with oil changes, tire rotations, visual vehicle inspections, and other minor maintenance procedures. This could be a great start to a career in the field of automotive service!
The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of maintenance experience that includes knowledge of basic repairsย and equipment. He or she must have the physical ability to perform all aspects of this job (lifting, standing, bending, etc.), must be reliable and trustworthy, and must pay attention to detail and take pride in his or her work. They should be able to stay on task with limited supervision and check in with management when tasks are completed.ย 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Checks all fluids and maintenance-related parts and tops-off or replaces fluids or filters/parts as required
  • Performs routine service inspections or tests and completes standard maintenance jobs
  • Maintains cleanliness of vehicles while performing service or repairs
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Follows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rules
  • Helps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
  • Uses power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
  • Willingness to learn with hands-on training
  • Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
  • Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Must have a positive, friendly attitude with a proven record of achieving exceptional customer satisfaction
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff
  • Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • Ability to learn new technology and all repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Must exhibit personal and professional integrity
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
