ActioNet is seeking a Network Plant Engineer SME  Lead Network Plant (ISP/OSP) to join our team. 

The position requires up to 50% travel within the first 6 months. Up to 10% travel required for the rest of tenure. This is a Mission Essential designated position per DFARS 252.237-7023.

The Network plant engineer will  serve as subject matter expert for the project. Oversees the survey, design, and implementation of physical fiber and copper cable plants, power connections (in coordination with licensed electricians), conduits, patch panels, and butterfly diagrams.

Salary range for this position is up to $230,000, depending on qualifications, including relevant certifications, education, years of experience, and demonstrated experience supporting Federal Government programs within the field. Candidates with specialized expertise, industry-recognized certifications, and strong Federal contracting experience may be considered at the higher end of the range.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the restoration of facilities to pre-install or better conditions. 
  • Works on telecommunication projects of varying size, scope, complexity, and location, supporting preliminary development of the SPRIP.
  •  Oversees and attends site surveys, documents current site ISP/OSP configurations, and designs and optimizes supporting infrastructure.
  • Approves SDPs and Final SPRIP, defines requirements for circuit testing, and follows all applicable standards, including the National Electric Code.
  • Assists in providing an IUID Marking Plan and a procurement LOM.
  • Oversees deployment teams for survey, installation, testing, and QA activities, as well as pre-implementation coordination. 
  • Approves engineering implementation plans and project drawings, performs quality checks, and supports safe work environments.
  • Identifies and resolves complex project problems, oversees systems pre-tests and acceptance tests, and ensures installations meet safety standards and work site conditions.
  • Supervises ISP/OSP engineers or subcontractors, plans and leads major technology assignments, evaluates performance results, and functions as a technical subject matter expert across multiple project assignments

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree: Technical BA/BS degree;
  • Experience:  10 years with BA/BS degree; 
  • Commensurate: High School diploma or associate degree with a minimum of 12 years performing as Network Plant Engineer supporting ISP/OSP solutions on large, complex networks; minimum 12 years
  • Specific Skills: 2 years managing/leading ISP/OSP modernization projects; proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, AutoCAD); experience supporting DoD projects, specifically network modernization projects; 
  • Certification(s): BICSI RCDD required;
  • Clearance: Secret Clearance

Candidates possessing one or more of the following certifications are strongly preferred:


   BICSI Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM)
   BICSI Outside Plant (OSP) Designer (OSP)
   BICSI Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC)
   Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) or FOA Certified Fiber Optic Specialist (CFOS)
   Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Enterprise)
   CompTIA Network+ or Security+ (DoD 8140 baseline certification)
