How much do salaried acupuncture jobs pay per year?

As of Aug 7, 2026, the average yearly pay for salaried acupuncture in the United States is $72,470.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $57,500.00 and $88,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some common challenges faced by salaried acupuncturists in a clinical setting?

Salaried acupuncturists often face challenges such as managing a diverse patient load with varying health concerns and adapting to the protocols of a healthcare facility. Balancing administrative duties, like documentation and collaboration with other healthcare professionals, can also be demanding. Additionally, salaried roles may require strict adherence to appointment schedules and productivity targets, which can impact the flexibility some practitioners are accustomed to in private practice. However, these challenges are balanced by the stability and benefits associated with salaried employment.

What is a salaried acupuncturist?

Salaried acupuncturists are licensed professionals who practice acupuncture while being employed on a regular payroll basis, rather than working independently or on a fee-for-service model. They typically work in hospitals, clinics, wellness centers, or integrative health practices. As salaried employees, they receive consistent pay and may also be eligible for benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plans. Their primary role is to assess patients, develop treatment plans, and administer acupuncture treatments to address various health conditions.

What is the difference between Salaried Acupuncture vs Independent Acupuncturist?

To thrive as a Salaried Acupuncturist, you need a comprehensive understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture techniques, and a valid license or certification from an accredited acupuncture program. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHRs) and knowledge of infection control protocols are typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills, active listening, and a compassionate approach help build trust and rapport with patients. These skills and qualifications ensure patient safety, effective treatment outcomes, and positive patient experiences in healthcare settings.

Job description

Employment Type

A turn-key practice where you give treatments, interact with patients, and connect with them on social media. We provide clinical and patient interaction training.

  • Salary is based on the percentage of revenue.
  • Opportunity to an eventual full-time $8,000/month for acupuncture, herbal prescription, and dietary consult. Your income increases as you attract more patients over time through good bedside manners, internal soft marketing, and effective treatments.
  • You will be in-network with all insurance companies, such as Aetna, Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna, Kaiser, and United Healthcare.
  • We provide you with patients in addition to your own clientele and promote you so that you can grow quicker. Staffs take care of administrative, billing, scheduling, and logistic duties, so you don’t have to.
  • We train you in our technique. You perform Bisoma acupuncture and Sasang constitutional diet and herbal medicine, which are proven to be easy to learn, efficient and effective. You will prescribe herbs, and give dietary adjustment advice. We will provide you with all the necessary training, which is worth $5,000. This training is in 2 phases. Phase one takes 2 weeks to learn and the result is as good as a 20-year practicing acupuncturist. This means you will be immediately effective with acupuncture as a go-to doctor for most conditions acupuncture is known for. Phase two is an on-going learning related to constitutional diagnosis, diet, and herbal medicine. After 3 months, the practitioner begins to be comfortable with treating internal diseases.

We will train you for the following:

  • Professional with leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Provide quality, patient-centered care, achieving a wellness paradigm shift for all patients.
  • Develop and deliver a quality patient experience.
  • Have a steady and stable approach to patient care.
  • Display sensitivity to the needs of patients in stressful health situations.
  • Display composure in an emotionally charged environment.
  • Build and maintain relationships such as bedside manner, empathy, education, knowledge in a variety of subjects, and completion of patient call follow-ups in a timely manner.
  • Have experience working with a diverse range of conditions and people at their stages of health.
  • Properly document patient care.
  • Learn and develop within the model of our clinic. We have a specific treatment protocol that has been successfully tested for the last 20+ years using acupuncture, Chinese herbs, and dietary adjustment. David Lee personally trains in the skills of Bisoma acupuncture, Sasang acupuncture, and Sasang herbology.

Having social media skill is a plus:

  • Efficiently write and edit blogs, articles, newsletters, and books.
  • Write up 2 patient success cases and one press release every 2 weeks for social media.
  • Have a working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and MailChimp.
  • Have a special interest and in-depth knowledge as an EXPERT in one or more of the following: brain balance (drug addiction and withdrawal, Parkinson's, essential tremor), gastroenterology, endocrinology (thyroid, adrenals, pituitary, and menopause symptoms), oncology, nerve and musculoskeletal pain management, diabetes, and/or urinogenital system.
