About Us:
The Landline Company (landlineco.com) is an innovative ground transportation company that connects airline passengers to major airports through premium motorcoach service in partnership with airlines including American Airlines, Sun Country, Delta, Jet Blue, and Air Canada.

We are launching service between Santa Rosa/Sonoma County and San Francisco, allowing passengers to check in and transfer luggage seamlessly between our vehicles and partner flights.

The Role:
We are seeking an Fleet Maintenance & Training Manager to join our Northern California team, responsible for supporting the maintenance, tracking, and movement of Landline's motorcoach fleet across the region. This operation runs from 3:45 AM – 1:30 AM, and you'll work alongside Customer Service Agents, Motorcoach Drivers, and station leadership to keep our fleet safe, road-ready, and in the right place at the right time.

In this role, you will support preventive maintenance and repairs, monitor real-time bus location and utilization, and support driver training and driver readiness. You'll also coordinate fleet movement between locations as operational needs to shift, ensuring vehicle availability never becomes the reason for a service disruption. Our stations operate within secured airport environments, and this role is expected to maintain compliance with TSA and airport security requirements, including SIDA badge access and required security training.

This role will ideally start the week of Aug 10th with a fast interview process.

What You'll Do:

  • Coordinate and track all scheduled preventive maintenance, inspections, and unscheduled repairs across the Northwest fleet, ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant, and service-ready
  • Monitor real-time bus location, status, and utilization using fleet tracking systems, and proactively flag issues that could impact on-time performance
  • Coordinate fleet movement between stations and facilities as needed, including repositioning vehicles for maintenance, schedule coverage, and operational demand
  • Support driver training programs, including new-hire training, recertification, refresher training, and behind-the-wheel evaluations
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, DVIRs, and compliance documentation in accordance with FMCSA, DOT, and company requirements
  • Partner with maintenance vendors and internal teams to schedule work, control downtime, cleaning, dumping, depot storage, and manage repair timelines and costs
  • Serve as a backup driver if needed, operating motorcoaches in revenue or non-revenue service (moves, road tests, training runs)
  • Proactively observe driver performance, providing coaching, retraining, and recertification as needed to ensure compliance with operational standards, safety requirements, and customer service expectations
  • Drive a safety-first culture and ensure alignment between maintenance, driver, and station teams at different locations
  • Effectively communicate fleet status, opportunities, and challenges to station and company leadership
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with drivers, station teams, maintenance vendors, airport partners, and other operational stakeholders
  • Maintain company property and vehicles to brand and safety standards
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

  • CDL Class B (or A) with Passenger (P) and Air Brake endorsements required
  • 5+ years of passenger bus / motorcoach driving experience required
  • Clean driving record and current DOT medical card
  • Experience coordinating vehicle maintenance, fleet tracking (Samsara), or dispatch in a ground transportation environment preferred
  • Experience training, coaching, or evaluating commercial drivers preferred
  • Working knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations, hours-of-service rules, and vehicle inspection requirements
  • Previous commercial aviation or airport ground transportation experience preferred
  • Proven success in a team environment with the ability to motivate team members working toward a common goal
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a safety-first mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


This is a Safety-Sensitive Position subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA guidelines:

  • Applicants must complete a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check and/or fingerprinting to comply with company security requirements
  • Applicants must successfully complete TSA criminal background checks to qualify for access privileges to the airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA)

Shift:
This operation runs 7 days a week, including holidays. Shifts may begin as early as 4:00 AM and end as late as 1:30 AM, depending on operational needs and the timing of the final bus return. The Northwest Fleet Maintenance & Movement Assistant Manager would typically work standard business hours outside of urgent operational issues.
