Job description
The Safety Manager will continue to develop, manage, and implement the company's safety and training programs. Additionally, this role will be integral to driving job site safety compliance, which will consist of routine job site inspections, documentation, providing retraining, and advising as needed. The Safety Manager also leads the safety and compliance program, ensuring adherence to WA L&I, OSHA regulations, and state/federal safety policies. Our ideal candidate is committed to excellence, professional, positive, and sincere.
About the Position
  • Non-supervisory position reporting directly to company president
  • Coordinate with project managers and site foremen to conduct toolbox talks with crews on a weekly basis
  • Develop toolbox talks to better equip roofing crews for scope of work being performed
  • Monitor training effectiveness by testing trainees and adjusting material as needed
  • Assist in the quarterly safety training by providing in-depth training materials to actively engage employees and personnel
  • Develop professional relationships with other safety personnel in the community and participate in active membership in the ASSP
  • Incident investigations and reporting
  • Oversee back to work and light duty programs
  • PPE inventory management
  • Job site safety inspection documentation
  • WA L&I recordkeeping and assisting in other recordkeeping duties as needed
  • Manage additional responsibilities, initiatives, or special projects as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in safety or related field or
  • Certificate in safety or related field and 1-3 years of experience related to a safety position
  • Knowledge of basic safety regulations
