The expected annual salary range for this role is $56000- $83000a year.

What you’ll do:

The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Coordinator supports environmental, health, safety, and security efforts at the site focusing on the deployment of Managing Environmental Safety and Health (MESH) initiatives, working directly with front line leaders. Individual is accountable for: supporting EHS activities at the site, including leading MESH elements and maintaining EHS systems and processes such as monitoring and measurement systems related to EHS, reporting and communication of EHS metrics, collection and organization of EHS action items, supporting EHS training for various initiatives, leading and supporting EHS teams, leading/supporting incident investigations, and supporting site internal assessment activities.

In this function you will:



  • Champion and lead team projects designed to effectively drive improvements in our “Zero Incident Safety Culture” program(s) and monitors critical components such as critical machine guarding compliance, electrical safe work practices, confined space entry process, lock out tag out process.

  • Lead the design, implementation and achievement of annual safety and environmental targets and metrics to drive EHS culture, compliance, and results; and implements and provides guidance and oversight to employee led safety teams and interacts and partners with local functional managers to execute programs and projects; serves as leader of plant’s safety committee. Supports and maintains an up-to-date emergency response procedure – runs the drills (plant evacuation, medical emergency drills, weather events, etc.).

  • Partner with other functional teams to ensure plant projects, changes, upgrades, and modifications adhere to and meet the Management of Change (MOC)and MESH “Change Management” processes; assists Operational Excellence engineering team with building and grounds capital projects as required.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to functional managers and their employees for investigations of accidents and near misses, identifies root causes, tracks trends, and ensures corrective actions are implemented.

  • Coordinate assigned Occupational Safety and Health and other training programs, possibly including, but not limited to: Personal Protective Equipment, Forklift, First Aid, Machine Safety, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Blood Borne Pathogen, Foot Protection and Eye Protection, Confined Space, Contractor Safety and Hazard Communication.

  • Ensure accurate and complete EHS reporting of metrics and closure of assigned MESH and regulatory agency findings and assists with intermediate communication with public/government authorities; assists in providing guidance and leading resolutions actions during crises as needed.

  • Compile and analyze MESH data for capturing in Eaton’s Safety database to include corrective action tracking and MESH scoring as assigned, including the review of the site's Workstation Risk Assessment Program.

  • Focus on the coordination of site sustainability initiatives to include recycling programs, Zero-Waste-To-Landfill, waste minimization, and other sustainability initiatives.


Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:



  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution and 1+ years of Environmental Health and Safety experience OR HS Diploma/GED and 3+ years of Environmental Health and Safety experience.

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Fontana, CA will be considered.


Preferred:



  • Operations in distribution or manufacturing a plus

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as well as planning and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint & Word)

  • Understanding of basic EHS principles and tools, including but not limited to safe work practices, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving.

  • First Aid and CPR Certification

  • Experience leading training sessions

  • Experience in distribution, warehousing, or high-volume manufacturing environments
