Job description

About Us

At Safe Life Defense, our mission is clear: to save lives by delivering cutting-edge personal protective equipment that’s innovative, reliable, and precisely engineered.

Based in Henderson, Nevada, we’re a rapidly growing leader in the body armor and protective gear industry, serving law enforcement, first responders, military, security professionals, and civilians nationwide. Every product we ship is USA-MADE, built in-house under one roof, and held to the highest standards of quality. We make life-saving equipment and never cut corners. We pride ourselves on an uncompromising commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. We never settle for “good enough” and strive to exceed expectations in everything we do. When someone’s life depends on our gear, “good enough” was never on the table.

If you lead from the front, hold a high standard, and know how to make a team hit it every single day- Safe Life Defense is where you belong.

Position Overview

The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall health, performance, and efficiency of the production floor. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this position provides leadership and operational oversight for the Warehouse, Inventory, and Production departments, ensuring all teams remain aligned with established processes, performance standards, and company objectives.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role that requires a strong presence on the production floor. The General Manager works closely with department managers and leads to drive operational excellence, ensuring accountability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Success in this role requires a leader who can effectively coach, develop, and empower teams while maintaining a focus on following process and achieving goals.

This position offers significant opportunities for professional growth with a successful candidate increasing leadership responsibilities as the organization continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

•  Enforce established operational processes and ensure consistent adherence across the Warehouse, Inventory, and Production departments.

•  Hold department leaders and their teams accountable for achieving established goals and key performance indicators (KPIs), including production output, quality, accuracy, efficiency, and throughput.

•  Partner with Human Resources to address employee relations matters, including performance management, attendance, coaching, corrective action, and conflict resolution.

•  Provide regular operational updates to the CEO, communicating progress toward departmental goals, identifying risks, and proactively recommending solutions.

•  Collaborate with Customer Service and other cross-functional departments to ensure operational alignment and business success.

•  Maintain compliance with all company quality standards, including NIJ certification requirements, Made-in-USA standards, and established operating procedures.

•  Identify operational challenges before they impact performance, implement corrective actions, and develop strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.

•  Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors, leads, and managers to strengthen leadership capabilities, improve team performance, and support succession planning.

•  A continuous growth mindset and a willingness to embrace new ideas.

What We’re Looking For

•  A people-first leader who upholds company standards, and holds team members accountable with fairness, consistency, and respect. Comfortable having difficult conversations when needed while coaching, mentoring, and developing employees to reach their full potential.

•  A demonstrated ability to foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement while driving operational goals and ensuring established processes are followed.

•  Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret department KPIs, identify opportunities for improvement, and communicate results effectively to executive leadership.

•  A hands-on leader who enjoys being present on the production floor, building relationships with employees, providing support, and ensuring teams have the tools and guidance needed to succeed.

Disqualifications

•  Lack of Respect for Our Communities: We proudly support Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire, Security, and Military personnel. A genuine respect for these service communities is essential.

•  Criminal Record: Due to the sensitive nature of our products and business, we cannot hire felons.

•  Poor Attitude: We value team members who bring a positive, solution-focused mindset to the workplace. Success in this role requires professionalism, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting and encouraging one another. A respectful, team-oriented attitude is an essential expectation.

•  Multiple Jobs: We seek dedicated, long-term team members committed to Safe Life Defense’s mission and success.
