Job description

Powering the agentic revolution in travel. Sabre is an AI-native technology leader, backed by one of the world's largest travel data clouds. Built on an open, modular, cloud-native architecture, Sabre serves as the backbone for both established leaders and bold, new disruptors, guiding them to the next age of travel retailing through intelligent, connected, and personalized experiences. With AI at its core and operating at unparalleled scale, Sabre transforms insights into innovation, empowering airlines, hoteliers, agencies and other partners to retail, distribute and fulfill travel worldwide.

If you are a technical accounting expert who thrives on variety and execution in a technology-centric environment, we want to hear from you.

As a key leader within Sabre's Accounting team, you will navigate a dynamic landscape of complex transactions and evolving regulatory standards. This isn't just about "doing the books"-it's about staying on the cutting edge of US GAAP, providing strategic transaction advisory, and delivering best-in-class technical analysis. You have a passion for technical accounting and, more importantly, an ability to translate that passion into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transaction Advisory: Conduct and document insightful research of non-routine accounting transactions to conclude on the appropriate application of US GAAP beyond auditor reproach.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Provide technical support for high-impact areas including contracts with customers (ASC 606), debt, M&A, divestitures (including transition services), derivatives, capitalized software, leases, and contingencies.
  • AI & Innovation: Leverage the Company's suite of AI-driven tools and automation platforms to streamline research workflows, enhance reporting throughput, and optimize the team's overall productivity.
  • Global Guidance: Provide technical guidance to international locations, interpreting US GAAP within the context of IFRS and other local GAAP differences.
  • External Audit Liaison: Support the external auditor's testing procedures for complex transactions and related internal controls over financial reporting (SOX).
  • Regulatory Monitoring: Actively monitor FASB, SEC, and PCAOB activities to identify potential impacts and lead the implementation of new accounting standards across the global organization.
  • SEC Reporting Support: Assist in drafting critical footnotes and disclosures for quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) filings, specifically regarding debt, fair value, and intangibles.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as a strategic consultant to Treasury, Finance, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, and Senior Management.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting (Required)

CPA License (Required)

Required Experience & Skills

  • Technical Depth: At least 6 years of applicable technical accounting experience. Several years within a "Big 4" or comparable professional services firm is strongly preferred.
  • Complex Problem Solving: Proven track record of researching and documenting non-routine concepts into concise, defensible technical memorandums.
  • Communication Mastery: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a specific ability to translate complex accounting concepts for non-CPA business partners.
  • Operational Agility: Ability to successfully manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Analytical Mindset: A "deep dive" mentality-willing to get into the granular details to solve problems while maintaining a view of the big-picture strategic goals.

Benefits/Perks:

  • Competitive compensation
  • Generous Paid Time Off (5 weeks PTO your first year!)
  • 4 days (one per quarter) of Volunteer Time Off (VTO)
  • Year-End break from Dec 26th - Dec 31st
  • We offer comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and Wellness Programs
  • Paid parental leave
  • An infrastructure that allows flexible working arrangements
  • Formal and informal reward, recognition, and acknowledgment programs
