Job Title: SAP FICO Consultant / Architect

Location: Boston, MA (Onsite) 

Experience: 15 to 20 Years

Role Overview:

Technical Expertise

  • Deep hands-on configuration and implementation experience in SAP FICO and Group Reporting.
  • Strong expertise in at least three of the following areas:
    • New GL, Document Splitting, Parallel Ledgers
    • FSCM (Credit, Collections, Dispute Management)
    • Asset Accounting (including S/4HANA Universal Asset Management)
    • Cost Center and Profit Center Accounting, Material Ledger
    • Revenue Accounting & Reporting
    • COPA (Costing-based and Account-based)
  • Proficiency in Banking Communication Management (BMC), Multi-bank Connectivity (MBC), Asset Accounting, and Treasury Management.
  • Solid understanding of integration with SAP SD/MM/PP/PS modules.
  • Hands-on experience with S/4HANA Finance, Universal Journal, Fiori apps, and Central Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of data migration, system upgrades, and performance optimization in FICO.
  • Experience in SAP Financial Closing Cockpit (FCC), Advanced Financial Closing (AFC) and Advanced Compliance Reporting (ACR).
  • Knowledge of SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) integration with FICO for planning and reporting.
  • Familiarity with monthly and year-end closing activities like Group Consolidation, Intercompany Reconciliation, and Transfer Pricing.
  • Exposure to SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) extensions for Finance.

Business & Functional Skills

  • In-depth understanding of end-to-end finance processes:
    • Record to Report (R2R)
    • Procure to Pay (P2P)
    • Order to Cash (O2C)
    • Cost Accounting, Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable system designs.
  • Experience in business process re-engineering and driving process improvements for measurable business value.
  • Strong capability in stakeholder workshops, requirement gathering, and solution blueprinting.
  • Knowledge of financial compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory reporting (IFRS, GAAP).

  • Understanding of taxation processes, withholding tax, and electronic invoicing (e-invoicing).
  • Familiarity with Treasury & Risk Management processes in S/4HANA.

  • Proven expertise in FICO solution architecture within S/4HANA environments.
  • Ability to design and implement end-to-end financial landscapes, ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules.
  • Experience in Central Finance architecture, system consolidation, and harmonization of financial processes.
  • Knowledge of cloud deployment models, system landscapes, and integration with third-party applications.
  • Ability to provide strategic consultation on finance transformation programs.
  • Experience in multi-system integration, hybrid landscapes, and migration from ECC to S/4HANA.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, master data management, and financial controls.
