Role Summary

Reporting to the Group President, the General Manager - Asia, RYOBI is a senior leader responsible for driving the full P&L performance, strategic growth, and market expansion of the RYOBI brand across Asia.

This role will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive regional business strategy, including product, marketing, distribution, and commercial execution. As a key member of the global leadership team, this individual will own the end-to-end business across Asia, ensuring alignment with global brand strategy while tailoring approaches to local market dynamics.

The General Manager will build, lead, and scale a high-performing cross-functional organization, including Product Management, Marketing, Sales, and Commercial Operations, to accelerate growth and strengthen RYOBI's market position across key Asian markets.

Essential Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Business Ownership

  • Own full P&L responsibility for the RYOBI business across Asia, including revenue growth, gross margin, cost structure, and profitability.
  • Develop and execute a 3-5 year regional growth strategy, including market expansion, channel development, and portfolio optimization.
  • Drive annual operating plans, including sales, margin, pricing, and mix targets, with clear accountability for results.
  • Identify and pursue new market entry opportunities, partnerships, and distribution strategies across Asia.
  • Act as the primary regional leader, representing the Asia business with executive leadership.

Innovation & Product Strategy

  • Lead the development of regional product and innovation strategies aligned with global RYOBI direction and tailored to Asian consumer and professional needs.
  • Partner with global product development teams to shape and execute innovation pipelines.
  • Ensure product portfolios address local market requirements, competitive positioning, and price architecture.
  • Drive disciplined portfolio management, including lifecycle planning, cost optimization, and SKU rationalization.

Market Intelligence & Commercial Excellence

  • Establish a deep understanding of Asian customers, end users, and channel partners, translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Monitor competitive landscape, emerging technologies, and category trends to inform decision-making.
  • Lead regional go-to-market strategies, including channel mix (retail, e-commerce, distribution), pricing, and promotion.
  • Drive data-informed decision making, including business cases, ROI analysis, and performance tracking.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and align cross-functional teams across Sales, Product, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations.
  • Ensure strong coordination between regional and global teams to drive execution excellence.
  • Oversee sales and distribution strategy, ensuring strong retail and channel partnerships across Asia.
  • Drive operational efficiency, including demand planning, inventory management, and cost control.

Organization Building & Talent Development

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing regional leadership team.
  • Establish clear organizational structure, roles, and succession plans to support future growth.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance.
  • Serve as a change agent, embedding processes, discipline, and behaviors required to scale the business.
  • Mentor and develop leaders to expand capability across markets and functions.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • 12+ years of progressive experience in general management, product leadership, or commercial leadership within consumer goods, power tools, or adjacent industries.
  • Proven success with full P&L ownership in a regional or multi-country leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute growth strategies across diverse Asian markets.
  • Strong background in product strategy, innovation, and go-to-market execution.
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Deep understanding of distribution channels in Asia (retail, e-commerce, and/or professional channels).
  • Highly strategic, analytical, and results-oriented with strong business acumen.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence, with experience engaging senior leadership.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to influence across global and regional teams.
