Hyrox Coach
D1 Training Melbourne - Built for Athletes. Powered by Coaches. Melbourne, FL | Full-Time
We're proud to train Melbourne's athletes, families, and competitors who expect more than sweat sessions. As we grow our Hyrox and functional fitness programming, we're looking for a Hyrox Coach who's passionate about hybrid training - combining running with functional movements - and can bring that same energy and structure to our strength and conditioning floor.
What You'll Do
As our Hyrox Coach, you'll design and lead training sessions that build the running, strength, and functional endurance our members need to compete and thrive. You will:
  • Coach Hyrox-style and hybrid training sessions, blending running with functional movements like sled pushes/pulls, farmer's carries, burpee broad jumps, wall balls, and rowing/skiing
  • Program and periodize training cycles that build race-day readiness and everyday functional fitness
  • Teach and reinforce proper technique, pacing, and transitions between movements
  • Modify workouts to meet each athlete's ability level and goals
  • Create a high-energy, motivating environment every session
  • Also step in to coach our core strength & conditioning group and team training sessions when needed
  • Start and finish sessions on time, every time
  • Represent D1 Training Melbourne with professionalism, enthusiasm, and integrity

Because our coaches are trained across D1's full system, this role isn't limited to Hyrox - you'll also be equipped to run general strength and conditioning sessions, personal training, and team training as our schedule calls for it.
This role is perfect for you if you:
  • Have a passion for Hyrox, functional fitness, or hybrid athlete training
  • Bring energy, confidence, and presence to the floor
  • Want to help build a new program from the ground up
  • Care about athletes as people - not just reps and sets
  • Take pride in preparation, punctuality, and professionalism

Our Core Values
Every coach at D1 Training Melbourne lives out D1's four core values, and we look for that mindset in every hire:
  1. Team Player - We're in this together. What's good for the athlete, the team, and the business go hand in hand.
  2. Passion - A genuine drive to inspire and motivate athletes to reach their goals, every single session.
  3. Make the Smart Play - Good judgment and initiative - knowing how to adapt and make the right call for the athlete in front of you.
  4. D1 Character - Fearlessness, perseverance, respect, discipline, and integrity in everything we do.

Qualifications (Don't Self-Eliminate)
  • AED/CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain quickly)
  • At least one NCCA-accredited certification (NSCA, NASM, ACE, ACSM, ISSA, etc.)
  • Hyrox, running coach, or functional fitness coaching experience preferred
  • 2+ year coaching experience (group, team, or personal training)
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field (preferred, not required)
