Eli's Expediters and Runners assist in providing guests with the Eli's experience. Eli's runners are expected to give service that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful while upholding company standards and values in a busy, fast paced environment. Eli's expediters are expedited to confidently navigate the kitchen line during busy meal periods and ensure that guests receive their dishes exactly per our strict Eli's standards and in a timely fashion.


Essential Functions

  • Provide knowledgeable, friendly and attentive, efficient, friendly, energetic, and thoughtful service at all times.
  • Support service team with ongoing table and floor maintenance, including, but not limited to: water service, clearing and cleaning tables and resetting tables with proper tableware.
  • Respond appropriately to any guest requests or issues by communicating effectively with the proper server or management.
  • Assist in the cleaning and polishing of all tableware.
  • Receive instruction from multiple sources and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members including the kitchen line
  • Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service.
  • Have ability to recite basic menu knowledge and run food to tables if needed.
  • Be knowledgeable of the restaurant and its history.
  • Quickly and correctly transport food from the kitchen to the guest
  • Up-to-date knowledge of menu items including major components, unfamiliar ingredients, and appropriate utensils for service
  • Adhere to all company service standards and protocols
  • Understand and execute food safety and allergies protocols
  • Communicate necessary dining room information
  • Assist servers and bartenders by communicating 86s, menu changes, and/or other food related information
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of service tools and service areas
  • Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
  • Stocking and preparing service related items


Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years serving, expeditor, and runner experience in a high volume environment
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge and a passion for the service industry
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative attitude
  • Must possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, strong multi-tasking & organizational skills, and a collaborative attitude
  • Receptive to constructive criticism and performance feedback
  • Ability to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environment
  • Beer and wine knowledge preferred


Physical Demands

The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
