Job description

Description
Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Division of Community Partnership - Anesthesiology, invites collaborative Anesthesiologists to join their team at Riverside University Health System-Medical Center (RUHS-MC).
Riverside University Health System-Medical Center (RUHS) is a 439-bed university-affiliated teaching hospital with over 60 hospital-based primary and specialty care clinics in Moreno Valley, Southern California. The location provides quick access to Los Angeles, Palm Springs, beaches, mountains, deserts, and six major airports. RUHS-MC is an ACS-accredited Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission, a Primary Stroke Center, and a Center of Excellence for Research.
The practice largely consists of adult cases, including orthopedics, general surgery, neurosurgery, ENT, OB/GYN, vascular, and thoracic procedures, as well as trauma surgeries. The group does provide care to pediatric patients, but the volume is not excessive. RUHS is a Level 1 adult and Level II pediatric trauma center for Riverside County. Regional anesthesia procedures are performed regularly; however, proficiency in regional anesthesia techniques is not a requirement for employment, but it is a plus. The practice covers a new state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center with 8 total operating rooms. RUHS-MC does not perform cardiac surgery or transplantation procedures.
The candidate will cover three 16-hour in-house weekday overnight call and one 24-hour in-house weekend/holiday shift per month (which can be split into two 12-hour shifts with another staff member). Two physician attendings are always on for overnight calls. All duties are distributed equally among faculty.
The ideal applicant would be a team-oriented physician who is interested in personal and professional growth, resident education, and mentoring residents and medical students. The practice embraces perioperative medicine as a core component of the anesthesiology specialty; as such, our residents receive significant education on this topic, and several of our faculty serve on national and state committees where discussions of future practice models take place. The ideal candidate will support such efforts.
This position is with Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group (LLUFMG), Department of Anesthesiology, affiliated with Riverside University Health System.
