How does a Pathway Coach typically support students in identifying and pursuing their educational or career goals?

A Pathway Coach works closely with students to assess their strengths, interests, and aspirations, helping them map out actionable plans for academic or career success. This often involves one-on-one coaching sessions, connecting students with relevant resources, and facilitating workshops or group discussions. Coaches also collaborate with faculty, advisors, and employers to ensure that students have access to internships, mentoring, and other experiential opportunities. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and adaptability, as each student's pathway is unique and may need ongoing adjustment.

What is the 3 month rule for jobs?

The 3 month rule for jobs often refers to a probationary period, typically lasting three months, during which an employer evaluates a new employee's performance and fit for the role. For a Pathway Coach, this period may involve assessing coaching effectiveness, communication skills, and ability to meet program goals before confirming permanent employment or advancing responsibilities.

What occupations make $500,000 a year?

Pathway Coaches typically do not earn $500,000 annually, as this level of income is uncommon in coaching roles. High-earning occupations that can reach this threshold include specialized medical surgeons, corporate executives, investment bankers, and certain technology executives, often requiring advanced degrees, extensive experience, and leadership responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Pathway Coach, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Pathway Coach, you need a background in career guidance, counseling, or education, often supported by a degree in counseling, education, or a related field. Familiarity with career assessment tools, student management systems, and digital communication platforms is typically required. Excellent interpersonal skills, active listening, and motivational abilities help Pathway Coaches connect with and empower clients or students. These skills are essential for guiding individuals toward educational or career success and ensuring they receive personalized, effective support.

What jobs pay 10,000 a month without a degree?

A Pathway Coach typically does not earn $10,000 a month without specialized experience or certifications. High-paying roles that can reach this level without a degree include sales managers, real estate brokers, or certain entrepreneurial ventures, often requiring strong skills, networking, and industry knowledge. Most roles with such income levels emphasize experience, performance, and sometimes licensing rather than formal education.

What are Pathway Coaches?

Pathway Coaches are professionals who guide individuals—often students or job seekers—through educational or career pathways. They help clients identify goals, develop plans, and connect with resources or opportunities that align with their interests and abilities. Pathway Coaches may work in schools, workforce development programs, or community organizations, offering personalized support and encouragement. Their role is to empower clients to make informed decisions and successfully navigate transitions in education or employment.

What type of coach makes the most money?

In coaching professions, executive or leadership coaches tend to earn the highest salaries due to their specialized skills and work with high-level clients. These coaches often have extensive experience, certifications, and a strong professional network, which contribute to higher income potential compared to other coaching roles like life or career coaches.

Position: Pro Pathway Coach
Department: Academy
Reporting Relationship: Technical Director
Status: Full-Time (Exempt)
About Charlotte FC
Charlotte Football Club is the Major League Soccer Club in the Carolinas. The Club's mission is to be a unifying force that is bigger than one city and encourage a sense of belonging through a progressive, collective, and ambitious approach that guides efforts on and off the pitch. CLTFC is committed to driving growth through sport and community outreach. Charlotte FC is owned by David Tepper and is a part of Tepper Sports & Entertainment, which also includes Bank of America Stadium and the Carolina Panthers.
Charlotte FC Academy Overview
The Charlotte FC Academy vision is to provide a high-performance environment for the most talented, high-potential young soccer players from across the Carolinas and beyond. Our mission is to inspire, develop, and support elite-level players on their pathway to success in Major League Soccer (MLS) and at the highest levels of the game. With a holistic, long-term approach, we strive to help young men reach their full potential both on and off the field.
Position Summary
The Pro Pathway Coach is part of a rotational coaching pool serving the Charlotte FC Academy's U14-U18 MLS NEXT teams. Rather than being assigned to a fixed head or assistant role on a single team, coaches in this pool step into head or assistant coaching responsibilities across age groups based on organizational need and individual merit. This structure is designed to develop well-rounded coaches, maximize staff expertise across the full Academy, and create the best possible environment for player development at every level.
In any given role, the Pro Pathway Coach will contribute to day-to-day coaching, individual player development, and age-appropriate periodization with the overarching goal of preparing players for success at the MLS NEXT Pro and MLS levels. This position reports to the Technical Director and works collaboratively with the full Academy coaching and support staff.
Primary Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Specific responsibilities may vary based on team assignment and whether serving in a head or assistant capacity.
Coaching & Player Development
  • Lead or assist with the design, organization, and execution of daily training sessions in alignment with the Charlotte FC Academy curriculum and playing identity.
  • Create and maintain weekly, monthly, and seasonal periodization plans appropriate to the assigned age group.
  • Develop and monitor Individual Development Plans (IDPs) for players, with consistent formal and informal reviews conducted at the direction of the Club.
  • Provide video analysis for both team and individual players; present findings to players and staff.
  • Conduct advanced scouting and match preparation, contributing to both pre-match and post-match review processes.

Team & Staff Collaboration
  • Actively participate in daily and weekly planning meetings; share feedback and provide support for staff and players.
  • Attend all matches and travel with Academy teams as required, including home and away fixtures.
  • Occasional scouting responsibilities as directed.
  • Collaborate across the coaching pool to ensure consistent application of the Academy's player development philosophy.

Other
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
  • USSF "A" or "B" coaching license (or foreign equivalent).
  • At least 3 years of coaching experience; experience within a professional youth development environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of the MLS Player Development Pathway.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Video editing and presentation capabilities.
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License; ability to drive a team vehicle during travel as required.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to away trips and events.
  • Must pass pre-employment screening.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous playing and/or coaching experience at the college or professional level.
  • Experience in a high-level, age-appropriate development environment.
  • Bilingual.

Skills for Success
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Works well within a collaborative, team-driven, and goal-based environment.
  • Works well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Reliable, dependable, and demonstrably a team player.
  • Must maintain complete confidentiality of privileged and/or sensitive information.
  • Must, at all times, display the character and values of the Tepper Sports & Entertainment brand.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and manage time and tasks effectively.
  • Active listener; detail-oriented and critical thinker.
  • Adaptable, open-minded, driven, and curious.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and ethical conduct at all times.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and individuals.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
This position operates primarily on athletic fields in variable outdoor conditions, including inclement weather. Regular travel to away matches and events is required.
  • Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities.
  • Ability to remain standing or walking for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to remain seated at a desk or computer for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to work in non-traditional settings and non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
