Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Mammography Technologist, you will help patients and Radiologists capture usable diagnostic images so they can accurately diagnose and/or rule out different conditions. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW.

Every day you will perform mammographic imaging procedures and patient care services. You will be expected to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment, apply thorough and accurate imaging techniques for patient positioning, and document patient concerns and care provided.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate enthusiasm to help others, a desire to have a positive impact on patients' lives, excellent initiative to improve radiologist efficiencies, and a commitment to completing exams in a timely fashion within Tracker RIS.

Job Requirements

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal AMA school of Radiololgic Technology or equivalent to an AMA Technologic program. Completion of 40 hours of structured education in Mammography.
  • Certification by the California Registry of Radiologic Technologists (CRT)
  • Current BLS through American Heart Association (AHA BLS)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills are essential. Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology for imaging, proper operation of and care of radiology diagnostic equipment, and radiation safety is required.

Preferred:

  • One (1) year experience as a Radiologic/Mammography Technologist is preferred.
  • Six (6) months experience in an out patient environment is preferred.
  • RTR
  • Medical terminology and familiarity with an electronic practice management system and PACS is preferred.
