Job description

RRC is seeking a talented Senior Crew Chief to help us build the future of U.S. energy production from our Austin/Round Rock Texas office. RRC is a multi-disciplinary engineering firm that specializes in energy projects, particularly renewable energy, throughout the United States. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operate in varying weather conditions to complete fieldwork
  • Direct daily field operations of the crew, delegate tasks, and oversee performance
  • Take ownership of all assigned field equipment, ensuring proper use and maintenance
  • Coordinate project logistics including site access, field conditions, schedule alignment, and client updates
  • Confirm all fieldwork is complete before leaving the job site
  • Demonstrate professionalism and respect in all client interactions
  • Consistently uphold and represent RRC Companies' values in the field
  • Utilize Microsoft Office tools, including Microsoft Teams, for communication and documentation
  • Properly store files and send email (going to an office is not required on most jobs)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
  • 5+ years experience as a Party Chief or Crew Chief
  • Proficient in operating Trimble survey equipment, including TSC3, TSC7, R8, and R10 units
  • Strong background in construction layout, including: building staking, parking lot staking, utility staking, boundary searches
  • Experience running level loops and establishing vertical/horizontal benchmarks
  • Capable of generating and interpreting OPUS solutions
  • Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D for field calculations and data preparation
  • Navigate to and from project sites, including long-distance travel as required
