IBMi/PowerSystems/AS400 RPG Developer

We are seeking an experienced IBMi/PowerSystems/AS400 RPG Developer to join our client's team in a hybrid model, with 2 days per week onsite.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the highest-level technical expert and team lead for complex computer applications and initiatives.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of available technology, tools, and existing designs.
  • Tackle complex problems that require evaluating intangible variance factors.
  • Plan, execute, and act as the escalation point for intricate platform designs, coding, and testing.
  • Lead multiple modeling, simulations, and analysis efforts.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to programming staff during program development, testing, and implementation.
  • Analyze business requirements, design, create, and maintain applications using SQLRPGLE on IBMi/iSeries/AS400 platform.
  • Familiarity with Visual Explain and IBMi/iSeries/AS400 platform performance tools.
  • Proficiency in IBM Rational Developer for i (RDi) for source, debug, etc.
  • Knowledge of source control software (Aldon) on IBMi/iSeries/AS400 platform.
  • Prepare detailed design specifications for program development and documentation.
  • Utilize technology to provide software solutions for problems of varying complexity.
  • Collaborate directly with department users to innovate and improve operations and processes.
  • Drive all phases of application development to completion.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in application development using RPG IV, ILE RPG, SQLRPGLE, and CL on IBMi/iSeries/AS400 platform.
  • Minimum of 4 years of extensive SQL knowledge, including writing scripts, functions, and stored procedures.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server development and SSRS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio and .NET tools.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of maintaining focus on long-term projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences of various levels within the company.
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Results-oriented with a demonstrated sense of urgency and commitment to achieving efficient and accurate results.
  • Committed to the highest levels of integrity and capable of maintaining confidentiality.
