Job description

Leadpoint Business Services is currently seeking a dynamic leader for a Route Lead position at our Hutchins, TX location. This position supports the day-to-day performance of Leadpoint's team on assigned residential recycling routes. The Route Lead works closely with driver helpers, support staff, department managers, and Leadpoint leadership to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable route operations.
In this role, you'll provide on-route support, assist with workforce coordination, communicate with employees and management, and help identify and resolve operational issues. You'll also assist with performance tracking, safety initiatives, training, and maintaining strong customer service.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, communication, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Experience in route management, particularly in the waste or recycling industry, is highly preferred.
Hourly Rate: $18.50/hour

Responsibilities of the Route Lead
  • Provide on-route support to driver helpers and support personnel
  • Assist with daily route operations and workforce coordination
  • Communicate effectively with employees, department managers, clients, and Leadpoint leadership
  • Help identify and resolve route disruptions, defects, and operational issues
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of employees
  • Support administrative and payroll-related tasks

Requirements of the Route Lead
Computer Proficiency:
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and other workplace technology.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong communicator capable of effectively engaging with driver helpers, support staff, department managers, clients, and senior management to ensure smooth coordination of operations.
Route Management Experience:
Previous experience managing or supporting routes is required. Experience in the waste or recycling industry is highly preferred.
Leadership Skills:
Ability to motivate, support, and lead team members while maintaining operational efficiency and meeting performance expectations in the dynamic environment of residential recycling routes.
Problem-Solving Skills:
Quick-thinking problem solver with the ability to identify and address issues such as route disruptions, defects, staffing challenges, and other operational concerns to minimize the impact on service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Time Management:
Efficient time manager skilled at prioritizing tasks and allocating resources effectively to meet the daily demands of residential recycling routes.
Technical Capacity:
Hands-on experience and knowledge relevant to route operations, waste and recycling, labor efficiency, and daily operational processes.
