Job description

Wylander, a recruiting company specializing in the disaster restoration industry, is recruiting a Mitigation Estimator for a company located in Bolingbrook, IL.
Mitigation Estimator Compensation & Benefits
  • Pay- $30.00-$35.00/ hr (DOE)

We are seeking a high-performing, seasoned Senior Mitigation Estimator with a strong sales acumen to join our disaster restoration team. This role is designed for an industry veteran who can independently respond to property losses, accurately scope damages, navigate complex insurance policies, provide estimates, when needed and secure signed work authorizations on the spot. The ideal candidate brings a decade of hands-on field expertise and a proven track record of converting emergency calls into active projects.
Mitigation Estimator Responsibilities:
  • Emergency Response & Evaluation: Promptly respond to emergency disaster sites including water, sewage, fire, mold, and crime scene clean-ups.
  • Site Inspection & Estimating: Walk potential losses to evaluate damages, document findings, and create precise, comprehensive scopes of work.
  • Sales & Client Acquisition: Build immediate rapport with property owners during high-stress situations and successfully secure signed work authorizations.
  • Insurance Coordination: Evaluate, review, and confirm coverage limits with insurance adjusters and policies to ensure accurate project billing and compliance. Provide assistance to the customer and help them file the claim with the respective insurance company.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Utilize specialized industry software daily to log field data, dry logs, and project metrics in real time.
  • On-Call Rotation: Participate in the company's emergency after-hours on-call rotation to handle urgent, overnight, or weekend losses.

Mitigation Estimator Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of dedicated experience in the disaster restoration industry.
  • Advanced knowledge and daily operational proficiency in Xactimate, MICA, Mitigate, Xactanalysis, Docu Sketch software.
  • Deep field knowledge of mitigation protocols for water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, fire/smoke damage, and biohazard/crime scene clean-up.
  • Proven ability to close deals on-site and convert emergency service calls into signed contracts.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively interface with property owners, adjusters, and internal production crews.
  • Flexible schedule with the absolute requirement to participate in an active on-call rotation.
