Job description

What you'll do:

Individuals will complete five rotations over a three-year timeframe at our Waukesha, South Milwaukee and/or Franksville, WI sites, with an initial start date in January or June 2027.
Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates who qualify. Participants will be connected with our relocation vendor and provided a lump sum payment to give you the flexibility to address your specific relocation needs.
Position Overview:
As a rotational Engineering Development Program (EDP) participant, you will gain a diverse range of engineering experience by working in various product lines and functions across two Eaton divisions. You will gain a firm grasp of our core engineering competencies and a holistic view of our technology-driven solutions that serve our wide range of customers.
Opportunities include, but are not limited to, rotations in: Testing, Product Line Support, Design, project management, and manufacturing engineering. You will be placed in assignments that best match your skillset and development focus to help you reach your potential.
Our engineering teams are passionate about designing products and services that are more efficient, reliable, safe, and sustainable. With five Eaton facilities and more than 1900 employees located in Wisconsin, Eaton's local footprint enables our employees with state-of-the-art laboratories and access to manufacturing that allows us to deliver robust solutions to our utility, commercial and industrial customers.
In this role you will:
  • Collaborate with global design and manufacturing teams.
  • Assist with performing mechanical, electrical, and environmental testing.
  • Develop, improve, and sustain product design and product definition data (3D models, drawings, bills of materials, product & material specifications).
  • Support production and manufacturing engineering including prototype and pilot builds.
  • Learn and perform engineering analysis and digital simulation leveraging advanced tools (CAD, FEA, statistical tolerance analysis, computational analysis MATLAB, etc.).
  • Learn and utilize design techniques to drive design optimization in cost, manufacturing, and assembly.
  • Develop sub-system verification tests, which include defining test methods and procedures and designing and developing custom fixtures.

Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering at an accredited institution with a graduation date in May 2027.
  • Minimum 2.8 GPA. Please do not round.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior Eaton Engineering co-op or internship experience.
  • Experience using 3D CAD software.

Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The annual salary for this role starts at $82,000 with a one-time $6,000 signing bonus.
