Job Description

As a Strategic Development Program Trainee, you will progress through a 5-phased program to learn every aspect of our business from shipping and receiving, to sales, operations, purchasing, account management and everything in between.

Additional duties will include:

Phase 1 – Warehouse Logistics

  • Learn the products we sell, how they get from the vendor to the customer and understand all levels of sales support.
  • Gain hands-on experience with inventory management systems, stock rotation, and warehouse organization.
  • Participate in shipping and receiving operations to understand supply chain fundamentals.

Phase 2 – Operations

  • Get involved in our customer service, counter sales, order management, inventory and pricing controls, credit management, financial statements, and much more.
  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and analysis to support operational decision-making.
  • Learn quality assurance processes and contribute to process improvement initiatives.

Phase 3 – Inside Sales/Project Management

  • Go from helping customers with various product and service issues to managing large-scale projects.
  • Develop project planning, coordination, and execution skills while supporting cross-functional teams.
  • Track project metrics and deliverables to ensure timely and successful completion.

Phase 4 – Outside Sales/Account Management

  • Learn how to find new business opportunities, sell our products, negotiate contracts, and build customer and vendor relationships.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop account management strategies and maintain detailed customer records and communication logs.

Phase 5 – Career Path Development

  • Synthesize knowledge and experience gained throughout all phases to determine your ideal career path within the organization.
  • Work with mentors and leadership to create a personalized development plan aligned with your strengths and career aspirations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

  • Basic understanding of business operations, supply chain, or sales processes (preferred)
