What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Rollout Project Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Rollout Project Manager, you need strong project management expertise, organizational skills, and a background in areas like IT, telecommunications, or operations, typically supported by a relevant degree or certification. Familiarity with project management tools (such as MS Project or Jira), change management systems, and industry-specific software is often required. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities help facilitate teamwork and manage stakeholder expectations. These skills are crucial for coordinating complex rollouts, ensuring timely delivery, and minimizing disruptions during large-scale implementations.

What are some common challenges faced during a rollout project, and how can team members effectively address them?

Rollout projects often involve coordinating updates or deployments across multiple locations or teams, which can present challenges such as communication gaps, unexpected technical issues, and aligning diverse stakeholders. Team members can effectively address these by maintaining clear communication channels, documenting processes thoroughly, and proactively identifying potential risks. Regular progress meetings and cross-functional collaboration are also key to quickly resolving issues and ensuring the project stays on track.

What is a Rollout Project?

A Rollout Project refers to the process of implementing and deploying new products, systems, or services across an organization, often in multiple locations or departments. This type of project involves careful planning, coordination, and execution to ensure a smooth transition from old processes or technologies to new ones. Rollout Projects are common in IT, telecommunications, and large-scale organizational changes. The project typically includes stages such as pilot testing, phased implementation, training, and ongoing support to minimize disruption and maximize adoption.

What is the difference between Rollout Project vs Deployment Specialist?

While both roles involve implementing new systems or processes, a Rollout Project manages the overall planning, coordination, and execution of a rollout initiative, ensuring it meets deadlines and objectives. A Deployment Specialist focuses on the technical aspects of installing and configuring systems or software. Understanding these differences helps organizations assign the right responsibilities and professionals for successful project completion.

About Zebra Architecture

Zebra Architecture is a globally recognized design firm known for delivering high-impact, brand-driven environments across retail, hospitality, aviation, and food & beverage sectors. With offices spanning London, New York, Scottsdale, Dubai, Hong Kong, and beyond, Zebra partners with some of the world’s most recognizable brands including Shake Shack, Starbucks, and Raising Cane’s.

Their U.S. team is rapidly expanding, leading large-scale rollout programs and ground-up developments that require speed, precision, and brand consistency at scale.

The Opportunity

Zebra is seeking an Architectural Project Manager to support national retail rollout programs—primarily focused on the Shake Shack account and similar high-volume clients. This role is ideal for a highly organized, energetic professional who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys managing multiple concurrent projects.

You will play a critical role in delivering branded environments across the North Dallas region while collaborating with a global design team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage 15–30 concurrent retail rollout projects in various stages of design and documentation

  • Coordinate with internal design teams, consultants, and external stakeholders

  • Ensure adherence to brand standards, timelines, and budget constraints

  • Oversee production of construction documents (Revit preferred)

  • Interface with clients such as Shake Shack on project updates and deliverables

  • Manage permitting and jurisdictional coordination across multiple locations

  • Track project schedules and proactively identify risks or bottlenecks

  • Support vendor and contractor coordination during execution phases

Qualifications

  • 8–16 years of architectural experience, with a strong focus on retail, QSR, or rollout programs

  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, fast-track projects simultaneously

  • Experience working with national brands or multi-site clients

  • Strong proficiency in Revit and construction documentation

  • Solid understanding of permitting processes across multiple jurisdictions

  • Highly organized with strong time management and multitasking capabilities

  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills

Why Join Zebra?

  • Work with globally recognized brands and high-visibility projects

  • Be part of a fast-growing U.S. expansion backed by international expertise

  • Hybrid flexibility with a collaborative, high-performance culture

  • Exposure to both rollout programs and ground-up development opportunities

  • Clear path for career growth into senior leadership roles
