JOB DETAILS

As an Application Specialist, you’ll work closely with contractors, engineers, distributors, and end-users to promote and support Robroy’s cutting-edge electrical products. You’ll deliver hands-on training, provide technical guidance, and ensure clients and users are equipped to apply and install our products effectively.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Technical Training and Support:

  • Deliver formal and informal training sessions—both in-office and on-site, virtually or face-to-face—to improve proficiency among installation contractors and maintenance staff.
  • Provide technical support with a full understanding of applicable codes, industry practices, company standards, and procedures.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for product application and installation, acting as a trusted advisor for end-users, specifiers, contractors, OEMs, and manufacturer's representatives.

Field Engagement and Customer Support:

  • Conduct on-site visits and audits, utilizing detailed reports and company procedures to make recommendations as needed.
  • Build rapport and elevate proficiency among installation contractors and maintenance teams through consistent engagement.
  • Promote the company's products and image in the marketplace, driving sales growth across all product categories.

Internal Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Support internal teams as a technical resource to enhance product development, demand creation strategies, customer experience efforts, and sales initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the product development team to improve existing products and recommend additional offerings.
  • Participate in the development of training materials, marketing information, and promotional content to ensure technical accuracy and relevance.
  • Stay informed on industry changes, including codes and standards, and communicate updates to the internal team and salesforce.

CRM and Market Intelligence:

  • Enter relevant information into the company’s CRM system to share insights across the division and support better organizational decision-making.
  • Monitor market activities, including competitor strategies, to keep the company informed and prepared to address challenges.

Quality, Safety, and Compliance:

  • Follow all internal safety policies and adhere to on-site safety procedures at customer facilities.
  • Maintain adherence to ISO processes, procedures, and the company’s quality policy.
  • Drive the Self-Managed Performance (SMP) program through self-motivation, initiative, and active participation.

Preferred Skills

  • Journeyman or higher trade experience
  • Strong background in the electrical industry with hands-on experience in product application and installation.
  • Exceptional technical presentation and field training skills.
  • Experience conducting on-site audits and providing actionable recommendations.
  • Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and industry practices.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with contractors, engineers, and distributors.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and reporting tools.

Required Education / Experience / Skills

  • Bachelors Degree or Trade School Certificate
  • 5+ years of successful experience in electrical or mechanical installation
  • Exceptional Organizational, Verbal, & Written English Communication Skills
  • Requires strong technical and commercial know-how and capability
  • Must be mechanically inclined
  • Proficient Verbal and Written English Communication Skills
