Job description

The mission of the Operations Manager is to ensure that all areas of the production process and maintenance of equipment and facilities come together to deliver quality products. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and hold team accountable to organizations’ policies and procedures
  • Ensure that communication between departments is ongoing and utilized to maintain an environment of continuous improvement
  • Support the company in production planning and making sure the business is adequately resourced
  • Identifying any skills gaps in the organization and work with Human Resources to develop and maintain a recruiting/development program to support this
  • Educate, develop, and motivate production team to achieve desired production results
  • Anticipate and determine cause of delays in production and take appropriate action to meet shipping schedules
  • Provide a leadership support function to teams and motivate employees to achieve production goals
  • Manage all operations budgets
  • Collaborate with Quality Manager on the plant’s total quality program
  • Coordinate tooling, fixtures, and attachments for machining
  • Ensure the highest level of quality is maintained throughout the manufacturing
  • Implement any new policies and procedures relating to the production process
  • Analyze and discuss hiring needs with Human Resources
  • Work with recruiting team, conduct interviews, and onboard new hires
  • Provide on-the-job training and identify functional areas where cross-training is needed
  • Address daily payroll activities including, but not limited to, attendance tracking, timecard approval and managing PTO requests
  • Ensure that key performance indicators are in place and production targets are met
  • Implement any new policies and procedures relating to the production process
  • Drive continuous improvement and on-time delivery throughout the supply chain process
  • Oversee and support the safety of the production floor
  • Provide support to all levels of the organization, in all operational departments
  • Write and deliver performance reviews and appropriate merit increases
  • Lead each day by example of Elemet Group core values and continuously search for new ways to build and maintain a strong and cohesive team

Qualifications

  • Educational background shall preferably be a 4-year degree in Business Management, Operations Management, or equivalent
  • 5-7 years previous operations management experience, including forecasting and scheduling

Skills and Competencies

  • Participate in training and development opportunities to ensure that professional competence is maintained.
  • Understanding or hands-on experience in metal fabrication, machining, and welding
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
  • Ability to give clear direction, think proactively and have a high sense of accountability
  • Strong computer skills - must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and recordkeeping.
  • OSHA 10 Certification preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer
  • Ability to stand for up to 10 hours
  • Walking and bending periodically
  • Must be able to lift 15-20 pounds occasionally
  • Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers - typing and/or writing
  • Receiving and responding to oral communication

The expected base pay range for this position is between $85,000 and $100,000 annually.  The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including geographical location, education, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
