Applicant Pool for Adjunct Lab Assistant, School of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, Robotics
Job Description:
The STEM Robotics Lab Technician will support labs and instructors with preparing the labs, components, materials, and consumables for classes. Communicate with the Chair on needed items for labs and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of Robotic programming and maintenance, PLC programming and maintenance, Computer and Electrical background.
  • Basic skills in multiple areas of electrical/electronics, networking,
    Mechanical, Robotics and PLCs.
    Preferred skills in robotics and PLC programming.
  • Able to assist instructors in the lab environment; maintain adequate supply of prepared stock for classes; place orders for materials and supplies needed for lab operation and classes. Able to program FANUC robots and multiple other robots and PLCs.

Essential Functions:
  • Preparing the lab, components, materials, and consumables for classes.
    Prep and install pre-owned robotics and PLC donations for the labs.
    Support instructor as needed for labs.
  • Maintains current knowledge of programs and procedures.

Other Characteristics:
  • Self-starter, able to work independently. Able to work collaboratively with students and faculty.

Minimum Education/Experience:
  • Associate degree or two-year technical certificate
  • 5 years' experience as a machinist programmer/operator in an industrial environment. Teaching experience in a community college environment is desired.
