ย Calgary's science centre is a pioneer in science entertainment and programming, with roots dating back to 1967. Home to one of Western Canada's largest dome theatre, the Digital Immersion Gallery, VR experiences, and innovative spaces like Steven's Lab, where interactive experiments unfold before your eyes. From the robot-dog Flint to Canada's first robot-coa5ter, R05iE, and a 15-acre park surrounding the science of the developing brain, Spark is a hub for creative encounters.ย 

ย Position Overview

Spark is currentlyย recruiting a contract (June 15, 2026 - Sep 27, 2026) line cook.ย Theย line cookย reports directly to the Chef, food services.

The line cook is responsible for food preparation, cooking and plating menu items to our standards. As part of the food service team, you will contribute to ensuring a positive experience for our visitors while showing a 'can do' attitude.

ย Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook and serve food to the quality guidelines of TELUS Spark food services.

Work within the food services team to ensure that a high level of professional service is provided to guests.

Responsible for assigned station and the cleanliness of the BOH

Work in a fast-paced environment on kitchen lines.

Ensure all elements of the guest journey is held to the highest standard.

Ensure personal and team activities are aligned with business and strategic goals of Spark as a whole.

Model high performance, flexibility and kindness in a rapidly changing growth environment.

Other duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications & Knowledge

At least three year of experience working in a kitchen on hot or cold lines.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Proven experience in customer service.

Strong communication skills and able to take direction.

Organizational skills and time management

Well-versed in preparing food items following recipe standards

This role includes prolonged standing, walking, and fast-paced physical work.

Working towards or have achieved your Red Seal Certification is an asset.

The successful candidate will be required toย ย work up to 40 hours per week includingย weekends and occasional evenings.

A proven track record of adding value to an organization's culture and initiatives.
