Robotics Design Engineer Jobs in Indiana (NOW HIRING)

Join a leading producer in material handling and robotics system integration as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Located in Greenfield, Indiana, our growing facility focuses on custom automation engineering and manufacturing, helping customers improve efficiency with tailored material-handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and detailed engineering drawings for custom equipment and system components.
• Perform hand calculations and engineering analyses to validate design integrity and performance.
• Create and maintain project documentation, including product specifications, testing procedures, and technical reports.
• Participate in cross-functional design reviews and collaborate with larger engineering teams.
• Estimate engineering effort required for assigned tasks and manage workload to meet project deadlines.
• Troubleshoot design challenges and propose solutions with increasing autonomy.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design iterations as needed.
• Communicate effectively with procurement, project managers, manufacturing teams, and external partners to ensure design intent is met.

• Bachelor's Degree within an engineering discipline.
• 3-7 years of experience in machine or automation equipment engineering.
• 3+ years of 3D Modeling Design experience, with a focus on steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and sheet metal. Proficiency in Solidworks or similar software.
• Stress analysis experience, including GD&T.
• 3+ years of 2D Drafting experience, including engineering, the person of material, FEA, and DFMEA.

• Machine design experience.
• FEA (Finite Element Analysis) experience.
• Solidworks Certification.

This is an onsite, 1st shift, Monday through Friday role, with expected office hours from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM ET. Post-training, remote flexibility is offered for life events. The role involves 80% desk work and 20% shop floor engagement. The work environment is casual, with employees often wearing jeans, and involves close collaboration with a team of seven design engineers. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenfield, IN.

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
